I have this phone and although a bit unstable at times it is excellent, and of course the best Windows Mobile phone you can buy (along with the XL). Released at £430 it's already down to £380.

Insider Preview (Fast) makes this phone v.stable apparently.
Great camera, v.v.fast performance, the unique continuum feature, and some high quality UWP apps coming through.

Add in a whole raft of new phone manufacturer's supporting Windows Phone, (including Xiaomi), & the future may not be quite so bleak for Windows Phone.

(The Lumia 550 is also a very nice phone - but ONLY when updated via Insider Preview. The release software is woeful. I couldn't install any apps, or update the phone software. Only the Microsoft Device Restore software could fix it!)
£307 from Flubit, £315 from Amazon (although this is a marketplace seller) for the black. This is just for people if they are looking for alternatives.
Massive flop, nobody seems to want a Windows Phone anymore last sales figures Inc cheap as chips models were a joke and having had Windows 10 since launch I'm not surprised either,

Anyone spending this sort of money on a Windows phone needs to give their head a good shake, shockingly bad App support and users hang on to the hope that vaporware is going to actually arrive - why bother, buy something that it's already on!

I'll put you in the "not a fan of Windows Phones" club then?
I have tried to be loyal but starting to look elsewhere. MS had a lot of good apps of their own and they've trashed them. The MSN Health & Fitness app was replaced by something else that only works with Microsoft Band, they've ditched Lumia Camera so the live pictures don't work anymore. It goes on. No wonder people are ditching them. Shame as I really don't get on with Android but I will just have to bit the bullet and get used to it.
yeah, I trailed the Lumia 640 as prelude to the 950 to see if I could go WP.

I love the OS, its my fav above android and iOS, but the app gap can be crippling.

Not helped by Google's belligerent diverting WP users to the web page for Google android app, instead of Google website you tried to visit.

example, try to go to the mobile version of Gmail

You clicked on for GMail on you Windows phone mail.google.com/

Google redirects you to this exact page play.google.com/sto…=en

Nasty anti competitive move by Google.
I have been loyal to WP since WM 6.5 and threw in the towel 2 months ago when I saw the state WP for heading towards, I sold my 1520 for £150 and bought a OnePlus One for £150 so a straight swap essentially. I really miss the UI of WP and even made Android look a feel a little bit like it but it will never be the same.

To be frank, this happens when i try to access Gmail via Chrome on my Galaxy S5 instead of using the app. It's annoying and, on occasions, i like to use the web version rather than the app.

It is a shame. I too have been with them since 6.5
Windows Phone 8.1 is probably as good as it gets now, for features and 'gap gap', now with Windows 10 Mobile, it feels like they're going another step backwards.

Bluetooth AVRCP for example, works great in 8.1 updated. W10m, it's like they forgot they've moved forward since Mango and now it's right back to where they were 4 years ago, but with the exception of Windows 10 universal app.

I am *this* close to just leave WP despite it's smooth UI (when W10m isn't playing up), handset quality from the Nokia's legacy and Cortana.

To keep getting a "throw back" everytime the OS number increases and having better MS Apps in Android/iOS than native (except Cortana). I can only 'fan boy' this much after years of support.

I'm on slow ring but might try fast ring. Is there a reason you specified fast ring? I love some of the MSN apps now, and the multiscreen view on emails is brilliant.

Fast Ring gets the most up to date Updates from the Preview. Can be unstable.

Get a Mozo backplate and this is a really nice phone, not sure I'd drop £380 without seeing how W10 runs on it though.
I'd consider this price for the XL but not for the specs on this when the G4 can be had much much cheaper. Especially with the rumblings and grumblings about Win10 for mobile...

By all means please share:

Shows the cheapest marketplace seller has not dropped below £381.01, and after Flubit'ing this a few days ago, the price came back at £365 odd.

I accept that I may well be mistaken as I cannot find the item/seller anymore. Although I think the CamelCamelCamel tool is great on most occasions, I do not rely on it for Marketplace sellers, it is not very accurate at this as I've found many many times. In fact it even gets Amazon price drops wrong.

Anyway, apparently this phone is now available on eBay for £319, as someone seems to have posted a deal elsewhere on HUKD.

Live pictures work just fine on Win10M.

The £319.97 @ currys are open box though. Ok if you don't mind that I suppose. I don't see this price anywhere on eBay.

.71 was released to the Fast Ring with the following improvements:

Fixes include:

Windows Update performance and reliability improvements
Improvements in migration of data profiles and messaging settings when upgraded from Windows Phone 8.1.
SensorCore API’s are now upgraded correctly from Windows Phone 8.1; allowing applications, including many fitness applications, to correctly access movement data.
SD card detection has been improved on boot and after insertion; File Explorer now handles the removal of an SD card when the default for apps or photos are set to SD.
Improvements in the Edge browser, including PDF rendering.
Bluetooth improvements when re-connecting to already paired devices and cars; turn by turn directions, and when using Cortana with the Microsoft Band.
Improvements in Settings when downloading Maps or changing Quick Settings.
Reinstalling Groove Music from the Windows Store no longer causes DRM music playback issues. Groove Music local song collections are now more quickly imported within the application
Device power improvements after listening to music, after missed phone calls when iris detection is disabled, and when downloading updates.
In app purchases now work correctly when cellular data is disabled.
Improvements to the reliability of Kids Corner.
Apps? Windows phone has enough 'useful' apps that I need. Who needs a marketplace with an over abundance of 'fart' apps and 'Flappy Bird' clones. What is wrong with people nowadays that they need an App for everything in their lives?
Bought my wife a Fit bit 2 fitness tracker bracelt for Christmas and the guy in PC World assured me it would work fine with my wife's Nokia Lumia. Errrr Wrong, they have yet to release the app for WP. So when you say who needs lots of apps, I agree but when you buy a (fairly) popular new product you kinda expect it to work with modern kit.

Still works for me..

Good, thanks for letting me know. Worked really well until recently, now says they're saying goodbye to the Lumia camera and I have to use the basic Camera app instead. No way back. Coming soon in an upgrade near you - new improved, less features!
spend the extra tenner and get this you won`t regret it

Panasonic/Sony cameras & camcorders, Sony TVs, Sky Go/NowTV - there is such a massive list of mainstream useful apps that are not available on WP. It's not much more compatible than a ZX Spectrum in the modern world.

You may be waiting a long time on that, I may be wrong but I thought I read somewhere recently that for the Fitbit to work they would need to write/include some extra software to support the way Fitbit operates. I'm not sure if there was any commitment on either side to do this. Maybe send it back and get a Microsoft Band instead perhaps.

Your statement is still incorrect, live pictures do still work. Maybe you have some other issue beside which camera app you use. I run the latest build of Win10M and it's fine, was fine on the previous two builds as well, and maybe builds before that too, but of that I'm not 100% sure.

I do love that handset, but these days I'd rather give my data to Microsoft than Google. They're probably as bad as each other, but for some reason I've become a little anti-Google lately. The company motto originally used to be "do no evil" but this has been quietly swept under the carpet since they've become such a massive company, there's no mention of this anywhere these days.. I even prefer Bing for web searches these days over Google. Maybe I've been brainwashed or something, but at least I'm in the minority and not like the masses

It is possible to pay just £5 more on Ebay and get a brand new unit. Myself, I'm waiting until I can pick one up for £250, then I'll be ditching my L930 for the 950.

Nope. The app actually says it's going away but will be retaining features from Lumia Camera. Just this very second I checked this was the case. Still have live pictures.

Which camera do you have? Living images were dropped from many Lumia phones including 735. I'm delighted they retained it for yours but it doesn't help me much.
