Good !! X)

Thank you for sharing this op I just ordered 2.

I've always been tempted to get one

Thanks great price- bought one for the wife

Just ordered, definitely worth a try, I have classic SAD symptoms and had been thinking about getting a lightbox like this for some time. Fingers crossed it will help, thanks OP!

Great price, thanks.

SAD is a normal thing though why would you want to tamper with what humanity has gone through in all of its history, just because someone said it is a bad thing why do you believe them? I see it as a way the body regulating hormone levels and adjusting you for darker, colder and harsher conditions. What ever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but if you want a bright warm light make sure you only use it during the day time don't want you all having your R.E.M affected at night time with these.

The description and reviews suggest this is actually very good, but I can't see how having a very bright light stuck in front of you for a period of time won't annoy the f*ck out of you very quickly?

barnabydurell, that's like saying having a cold is perfectly natural so why treat it?Desperately poor argument tbh. Also, im pretty sure people living on the equator don't get SAD.So would moving from Britain to the equator be acceptable to you? When the choice is between moving to the equator and spending a mere £50 on a light, I think most sane people would go for the latter.

Consider yourself schooled.

In what way is it "normal" when it only occurs in about 5% of the population.

Brilliant piece of kit.
Works very well in helping concentration for exams etc, now the long nights are back.

Thanks OP, just ordered, momentarily forgot Amazon's tax dodging yet again....damn.

Cheaper in maplin

I'll just buy a torch....

Cheaper in maplin

thankyou op

I had one of the Philips ones for a while and thought it did have an impact - although I wasn't sure how much of that was just because I expected a benefit.

Ordered thanks

is there any difference in buying daylight bulb?
thx

@Tarquin8484 Once again, all the charm of a rottweiler with toothache.

@barnabydurell the modern human's done so much to change and manage their environment, I don't think there's much that's natural about the way we live anymore. Those living at the poles live through long periods of dark and light, and there's no well publicised risks of this kind of lifestyle (it's a myth that Scandinavian countries have increased suicide rates). Bottom line is, I think if it makes you feel happier to use a lightbox, do it. There's medical benefits to reducing stress, it's not like you'll be using it constantly for hours and hours on end.

Damn it I was looking for a decent lightbox that could could be used for Graphic Design

But Scandinavia is also evolving with the pharmaceutical industry to reduce its suicides.

it is THIS ONE on Amazon. Same price. The one posted looks better.

thanks Op, "I just bought: 'Lumie Arabica SAD Lightbox' by Lumie" had been dithering over which one to buy for a couple of years ...

BT supply light machines for their staff if recommended to by OHS referral.

thanks

Ask them for replacement. What's wrong with it?

I haven't opened mine as this is a Christmas present which hopefully it will works.

Sitting with mine now Slept really well last night for a change.
The box is quite hard to open, and there is polystyrene round the bulbs to remove. Apart from that you could test it and then put it back in the box. Mine is my xmas gift from hubs to me and christmas has come early this year

It was flickering and then switched itself off after about 2 or 3 minutes. Must have been overheating.

But credit to amazon, they dispatched a replacement straight away and it just arrived! Can't fault that - here in 2 days The faulty one is still winging it's way back to them.

gone up to £107.95 oO
