The brightening light of the Lumie Bodyclock Starter brings you gently out of sleep. It tells your body to reduce production of sleep hormone melatonin and increase hormones like cortisol to help you get up and go. This provides a fantastic start to the day for sufferers of SAD and is great if you're not a 'morning person'.

  • Height 15, Width 19, Depth 20cm.
  • Dimmable digital display.
  • Snooze function.
  • Manufacturer's 2 year guarantee.

Original price £56.99 with good reviews. Even more on Amazon where it is currently priced at £37.96

Echo what's been said above - great bit of kit.
Thought we wouldn't use it once we got phillips Hue but the Hue bulbs don't seem to transition from zero - they sort of just pop on at low brightness.

Also don't be fooled into buying the official bulbs - they're just Sylvania 42W Eco Halogen (SES) Candle bulbs in a Lumie box. I bought a set of four 42w eco halogen candles off the amazon and they work fine.

Is it I wasn’t sure if would be good, as mixed reviews?
Great price for what is a good but slightly flawed product. If you buy one of these make sure you keep the instructions as I have to read them every time I reset it! Intuitive it is not, but would still buy at this price if we didn't already have one.
Great product, I’ve had one for years, it definitely helps prevent rude awakenings especially in the winter months. I got mine as a gift but it was nearer £100 at the time. Setting isn’t intuitive as previous mentioned but it’s a bit like setting an old Casio watch, once you’ve worked out it a simple enough process.

Bargain, have used one of these for ages and it works well for me (not a morning person)
Love my Lumie, especially in the dark winter months. Wake up alert and ready for the day, I have a second alarm clock set half an hour after the Lumie starts to gradually get bright, imitating the sunrise, though I don't need it most days. I'm already wide awake.
Worth every penny at this price.
Have these things still got the deafening buzzer alarm that jolts you out of whatever state of mind you were in? We had one one but I hard disabled the buzzer due to its massive offensiveness.

Let’s see how this goes I do have Philips Hue but as another commenter said, the fading isn’t the best and I think I’ve woken up a couple of times to it when it’s just turning on
Any other owners here know if there is a quick way to switch the light off after it has 'risen' to full brightness?
I get annoyed fumbling around trying to slowly dim the light fully off each time.

Toolstation also sell the bulbs for a fraction of the price.

Great price. Boots also have these in some (but not all) stores on clearance for £25 - worth checking as well.

Why do you even bother with commenting if it’s nothing nice?

Maybe it was once, now they're pretty much merged together.

Technically you are correct.
Thank you @idontflycathay
I've been meaning to buy one of these for a while for the Mrs, great find.

Thank you.

ANd then there's Bury, which some of is in Salford, boundaries in Manchester our odd lol.
Scientifically it’s better to get maximum time unconscious to try and get as much of that 4th REM period in. Set an alarm as late as you can and wake up to it rather than risk getting woken early.

I never understand people who set an alarm then snooze for 5 minutes and repeat.

Trolling. Report them and move on.
