Your more likely to find they’ll have none but spend £20 anyway on things you didn’t need before you went in
They also do 2 bags of " light the bag" charcoal for £2.99 which I used over the weekend and was very pleased with. Oh yes.
Much better than briquettes. Struggle to find lumpwood these days. Heat added
Anyone have a picture of the size of the lumps. I've been finding cheap brands only offer very small pieces rather than lumps!

Thanks. Morrisons have Big K 5kg for £8 and i can confirm they are large chunks. Did a brisket at 250 yesterday and had 9 hours+ of consistent heat with full bag.

Have to agree with this , found this lumpwood pretty poor . Mostly small pieces with the occasional medium piece
Found a good seller on ebay that sells 25kg of good quality lump wood for £26.99 delivered. Nearly all big chunks. Just placed an order for another 25kg

This stuff from b n m is terrible
Tiny broken pieces and smokes like a tyre fire

Homebase are now doing a 25kg lumpwood bag; hopefully it will be nearer restaurant quality and have much bigger lumps.

If you have any local coal merchants, give them a shout, i found out a one local to me does 12k restaurant grade premium lumpwood for £15, or standrard for £11 delivery extra, but i can collect, so worth looking them up

Tried that... The local suppliers kept letting me down with deliveries and being honest the quality was poor. They ebay seller is only 45 minutes up the road and delivers via DHL. No complaints so far.

B&Q have restaurant grade charcoal on offer. 12kg bags. 2 for £20. Picked some up yesterday, the lumpwood was that big I had to break it up to get it to fit into my vortex. Highly recommended.

Thats a cracking deal, you should post if not already, just ordered 2, thank you
Heat from me, I have one of these fan forced Lotus type BBQ grills so small lumps is just what I need.

That's Coz majority of people don't know how to light lumpwood or too in a rush, hence, it's the "convenience". Just use a chimney starter with some newspaper or firelighters and wait 15 mins.

Thanks. Will check it out as need this for summer, doing bbq at least twice a week. Does it come in one bag? Usually use restaurant grade lumpwood, burns for much longer and good size too!

Edit: They also sells restaurant grade. Thank you!

I've got a bag of this at the moment, some of the chunks are so massive it gets annoying breaking it down. I've not been too impressed with the duration of the burn either.

Got a bag of restaurant grade from the local coal merchants before this one so will go back to that. I also tried the lumpwood from Morrisons that someone's mentioned on here and I found that was better than the B&Q stuff too.

Yes, I checked after clicking the link.

Thanks 🏻

I've just bought the 2 for £20 from b&q so will see how they compare.
These are better than the briquettes, but be prepared for your food tasting of petrol.
