Amazing price. I buy 2KG for my shop at over £10 a pop. I've bought a few of these the other day as they are basically 40% cheaper than the normal price (usually about £5.67 from memory).

A deal for Lurpak? This site has sunk to new lows. Are people really going to change supermarkets just to save a few pence on lard?
Great price for 1KG, hot vote from me.
Only about 3p more than 500kg. Bargain!
Been this price for over a week now but really good deal. Voted hot.
It cost 5-6 quit normally. Odded hot

You've been a member for over six years and not seen a Lurpak deal posted before? https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:hotukdeals.com+lurpak

I'm not loyal to one supermarket and shop around so this deal is not at all inconvenient for me. I expect a lot of people will be in a similar situation.

By the way Lurpak is butter, not lard.

The problem is that whilst yes, people may not be tied to one supermarket. But if you decide ''oh, the lurpak is 40p cheaper in Tesco this week ill shop there''...your Lurpak may be cheaper than say Asda, but then how many of your other items are more expensive? In effect negating the saving.

The only way you could justify swapping supermarkets for that lurpak saving would be to list all what you intend to buy...check prices of everything before you go and then decide which one is ultimately cheaper for that shop. Obviously nobody is daft enough to do that so this really is a none deal really. ..same as most other supernarket deals.

I guess if you were going shopping for JUST Lurpak then yes this would be a good deal..although depending if the supermarket was further away could see saving negated by extra petrol costs.

Either way....its just not really a deal thats going to save people really. If they were going to said supermarket anyway then they would see the deal instore.

You're supposed to remove it from the tub with a knife first before applying
This is a hot deal, I bought this last week. The 500g was £2.68 for a extra few pence you get double the amount. Hot from me

1) there was nothing humorous
2) grocery deals like these dont save you money unless you are only going to the shop for that one item alone. Otherwise youll not save a penny. ..and actually may even lose money.

That is a fair argument. I can see how what you describe would affect people who do just one shop a week exclusively in one supermarket with a constant budget.

But I don't go shopping with a set budget in mind so it isn't really a concern to me that something might be slightly more expensive in one shop than another. Because I shop in all of the big four supermarkets about equally I think my spending probably balances out over time anyway.

I saw this when it was posted previously so picked up a few tubs the next time I was at Asda. Without HUKD I wouldn't have known about it because I didn't actually need to buy butter on that occasion.

The offer is for Lurpak Spreadable Lighter - which is different in taste and inferior to original Lurpak Spreadable.

That is incorrect - see this Asda Groceries web page for confirmation that the original is included.
Yuk - this is not butter and it doesn't taste like butter. Because the ingredients are:

Butter (69%) , Vegetable Oil (25%)
Mysupermarket.co.uk does that for you!

Sounds a bit to me like some folks have a 'lil lady' to take care of their food shop, while they sit on here picking faults with 'mundane' posts.
Maybe even just too much money.

I recognise a bargain. Heat added, thanks op

Are you going to Asda JUST for Lurpak? If so youll have saved money...if not and youve decided to shop there this week because of a lurpak offer then you probably wont have saved anything...and actually could have cost you more for your shop.
