This deal was posted a few months back by Broxy, but I'm happy to say that it's back on again. Unsalted Spreadable is also included in the offer:

tesco.com/gro…256

Usually £2.80 each, so second pack costs just 20p (makes you wonder why Tesco didn't just BOGOF it). Deal is in-store and online.

As per the posting, this is for the spreadable. The fact that the sort you buy isn't included doesn't make this a bad deal.

It's spreadable butter.

i think last time I bought them for this price but with a small baking tray

It's spreadable butter.

Its not butter thats why they dont call it butter. Its a mix of butter and vegetable oil which makes it margarine. Horrible stuff.

Yes, that's partially right. 69% butter, 25% vegetable oil. Calling it "margarine" is therefore even more inaccurate than calling it butter, so I don't really understand your argument. Many people like this stuff, you don't. That doesn't make them or you wrong.

Apart from the fact the post doesn't say it's only the light variety --- and the picture associated with the post is for the normal spreadable The post leads you to think it's the normal stuff on offer, because that's what I thought until I'd read half the posts.

I was just trying to give people the proper facts to supplement my own posting so that they can make up their own minds. If this product is not of interest to you then why waste your time reading the post, let alone making picky criticisms of it? Have you nothing better to do?

As per the picture and title, it's the normal version, not the light. The light doesn't appear to be in the offer. Apologies if for some reason you thought it was Lurpak Light.

EDIT: Having just checked the Tesco site, they have now ended the offer anyway, so I am expiring the post.

For what it's worth, Tesco have 500g tubs of Country Life Spreadable (normal and lighter) on the same offer from tomorrow - i.e. 2 for £3.00.
