The first three seasons of the BBC crime thriller series starring Idris Elba. Brilliant but flawed murder detective John Luther (Elba) sees it as his personal crusade to track down the depraved killers it is his job to identify. No blu-ray? It's 2013 not 2003 ffs. Third series has been pretty rubbish so far (imo).

Really cannot understand why people get so worked up over blu-ray when DVD is perfectly acceptable. Ok sure the price of this might be more in line with blu-ray, but dvd for me is still a perfectly good (and usually inexpensive) format.

Some people don't want to settle for 'acceptable'. They, like me, would rather have the best possible AV quality.

Ok, perhaps acceptable was the wrong word. Compare DVD to VHS and there is absolutely nothing wrong with DVD quality.

Lent my 1 - 2 box set to someone, and never got it back! Would be all over this if it was Blu, but sadly not at that price for DVD.

Just watched it all on netflix. Pretty damn good!

Luther was filmed and broadcast in HD so it seems a waste of money to pay for a downscaled SD version.

Watched this last week on a friend's recommendation, as being "scary as hell". Found it laughable tbh. Not a bad price I expect though, for those who enjoy it.

Really want to get this on Bluray. Don't understand why it hasn't been released by the BBC yet when shows such as Sherlock get both a DVD and Bluray release

I thought all 3 series of Luther has been excellent. Some of the best BBC drama for a while.

Darn good series.Nice find for me as I only watched the last series which finished last night. nice one op.

Got to say he is one great actor and should be the next bond

For some reason the first two series passed me by, just finished watching the 3rd series on tv..... seems excellent, but obviously I felt like I was late to the party.

That's what hype does. Never listen to it.
IMO great characters, great narratives, great drama and the coolest theme tune on TV.

The party's even better at series 1 and 2!

The double episode finale in 2 is stunning IMO. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed having Luther back on the TV, but for me, series 3 was the weakest.

Good price for all 3 though, but like many others, lack of blu-ray is a real bummer

If you like criminal minds, jack Bauer, dexter, vic Mackey and columbo lol, watch this. It's damn good :-)

I may buy it, but on Bluray not DVD...... must admit i'm intrigued to know what that Alice is all about. Totally didn't understand her part in S3.

But then again DVD is better than VHS.....

Snort.

Great series, wouldn't watch it again though.

I don't know why it was recommended as 'scary', it's a cop thriller, not a horror show!

That said, the first 2 episodes of Series 3 were bloody terrifying at points...

As I said the price of this is expensive for DVD, but were it much cheaper on DVD than blu-ray, thats the version I would buy.

Just for the record I watched Luther in SD on the BBC and didn't have any complaints, I didn't think I was missing out on anything by not watching in HD.

Why would they release The Big Bang Theory on Blu-Ray and not this? Must be to do with sales.

There was an article on the BBC a while back by the writer. It was titled "Introducing Luther - with love to Detective Columbo".

Cigars no, but old cars and overcoats definitely! That and the murderer is introduced act 1.

He's like a black British cross between jack Bauer, dexter, vic Mackey and columbo .. Totally see it if u watch them shows

Black British cross between jack Bauer , dexter , vic Mackey and columbo lol. One of the best maverick cops ever

Thought my comment didn't work hence the 2
