Wait for someone to point out it's only a Vestel product !

Regardless of brand, a 32" TV for £199, is nothing short of amazing value for money.

Yes, there are plenty of better spec TV's out there, but then again, they're also more expensive, so this will be very tempting I'm sure to those with a budget for maybe a 26" TV, who can now buy a 32" for the same money. heat added.

luxor are hitachi products rebadged i bought a luxor 27inch lcd tv and it had hitachi uks customer service number in the box and had hitachi book inside ..great tv

Wow. First time I have come across this brand for over 10yrs.

My Luxor TV is still alive and kicking. Bought it from Sainsbury's a very long time ago.

OK, Yep. It's a fat TV but not going to change it until it dies

COMARANTZ

Haven't looked at the pic of the TV been distracted by Steve's avatar, heat added for that alone

Yup, its not a mega famous brand and the panel wont respond at whatever time and whites may not be as white as white can be but friking hell; £200 for a 32 inch tv! You cant really go wrong at that price.

This should get amazingly hot but the AV aficionados/brand snobs will prevent that from happening.

HOT!

could this be nationwide?

heat added been waiting for this price point, shouldnt be long before the larger tv's hit 300

100,000:1 contrast ratio (especially good for this price) - 2 hdmi sockets is ok too. Argos are doing a good value for money 40" for £250, my mum ended up buying one and I was surprised by the features (usb record for timeshifting, divx playback).

I still think this is a very good deal, especially for a small room, I'm quite tempted by one for my bedroom.

Can someone confirm if I can connect my PC's VGA input to this. I do not intend to use it as TV but as a monitor for the desktop - I only use it to watch iplayer and 4oD

'Argos are doing a good value for money 40" for £250'

Where was that as I can't find anything on the Argos Website

It's a Vestel!

ordered to see how it actually is as a spare in the conservatory - attach a 5 year extended warranty the current account, £200...cant argue

will get back to you guys if its crap lol

Voted hot. But I've been looking for a 32" TV for a few months (need slim LED edgelit due to location) and have noticed a couple of second tier branded 32" TV's around the £200 mark. Infact there have been a few first tier brand 32" sets in the £225-£250 range. I'm simply sharing my experience as if you haven't been looking at prices in the last couple of months, this may seem like and unmissable deal, rather then a very good one.

Does anyone who has one of these know if it will display a 1:1 1920x1080 image through HDMI (i.e. without overscan) and what the maximum resolution through the PC input is?

Hot based purely on the OPs avatar

oh ps

It's a Vestel!!!!

Who has changed this from LODOS to LUXOR ??

Don't forget to check the box if anyone decides to get one instore - I was only able to see the 720P version on sale (at the same price) when I looked.

Has anyone tried one of these with a 360/PS3 or Blu-ray yet?
Does it display 1080P at 1:1 pixel without overscan over HDMI?
Most cheaper TVs tend to overscan.

mines being delivered as we speak, should be able to pick it up soon, will get back to you guys on this one....end of the day, can always return

That will be because Hitachi do not actually make TV's, they are just re-branded Vestel products and generally of poor quality.

The 1080p version is ONLY available online, the ones instore are 720p, which is a bit of a ****, otherwise I'd have snapped one up for 180 nicker using discount code *Staff_Discount_10%*

Just checked the asda site to see if this was still in stock and noticed that the full HD description has been replaced with HD ready 1366 x 768 so either the full HD model has sold out or they mis-described it and it was never available. Hope anyone that ordered gets the full HD set. I had not so will have to look elsewhere now.:(

Mine has been delivered and is the exactly same box as instore. After setting it up and seeing the menu, it does still seem to show 1080P sources (see image below). As for overscan, it does by default but there is the "HDMI PC Input" option on the TV which allows it to switch the overscan off.

Obviously if you plan to use it with your PC then you may need to play around with your graphics card settings as well as some others as well, but you'd usually need to do that with a new TV/monitor anyway.

I've yet to try mine out properly, but if I decide it's not suitable for me, then as eddiewa says, it can always be returned.

EDIT: It's not perfect, but it'll do for me.

As a side-note, it also includes a USB port and "Media Browser" menu option, though I have no idea what it supports as I haven't used it.
