That's a lot of money for a brand like that, I would always pay the extra and get an LG/Panasonic etc

No, but an LG is going to be a lot better, and would be worth the extra in my opinion.

I would think LG same size would be around £700-£1000 more, without anything to back up the claims that it is 'a lot better'.

You do get what you pay for, but there is very little 'middle class' in LED tv's
so either you are the high end, or you are the 'mass market' - and this falls in the mass market category, which LG is competing with, inflating prices to cover warranty

If you compare the cheaper brands to the LGs or Samsungs instore at Currys, they look rubbish in comparison. I just think 800 is a lot of money to spend to be dissatisfied even if it does mean waiting abd paying a few hundred more. Have a look before you buy imo.
