"(...) Fancy a 40-inch hi-def telly for half a monkey? Then push your trolley down to Asda, where you can bag yourself a 40-inch 1080p television for just £250.

Are you happy to get a gogglebox with your groceries? The Luxor 40-inch is currently £300 -- which is the cheapest price for a comparable TV on Amazon at the time of writing -- but Asda is knocking £50 off tomorrow, so it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Just an arm. Maybe a leg, but only below the knee.

The 40-inch LCD TV offers 1080p high-definition viewing without breaking the bank. It's a decent offer if your budget has held you back from the world of hi-def TV, Blu-ray movies and high quality gaming action."

The price drop kicks in in Asda stores on Saturday morning, and will be offered on the online store at roughly the same time.

Just read new on Cnet Review website about this. They have not yet tested or reviewed this TV

Review... which.co.uk/tec…ew/Score 39% "DON'T BUY".

It's rubbish, & being only £249 doesn't make it value for money. Look elsewhere.

Price and retailer added to title.

Was in Asda today looking at this. There were 5 or so 40" TV's all on, and this didn't look much different from picture on a Samsung, although it wasn't as clear as a Plasma, which was £100 more.

Surely worth £250. Hot for me

Another Vestel product no doubt?

All that indicates is either that the store hasn't set them up very well (a certainty) or / and you need to go to Specsavers

This forum used to have worthwhile posts, but sadly its now become a pis5ing contest. It should.be about bargains & deals but has become a bully paradise for big name snobbery.

I know that loads of people will complain about the picture quality etc but really £249 is a good price. If you look for the flaws then yes you will see them but really unless your spending serious money then you can pick flaws in most TV's.

Lets give it some heat!!!

I recently bought an unheard of brand 42" Full HD tv for £250 off ebuyer which sounds similar to this one. I didn't expect the quality to be amazing for the price I paid but was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually really good, better than some of my friends TVs which were Sonys and Samsungs.

Hot from me, hoping buyers experience the same thing I did.

The price is incredible! Anyway I own a fairly old 37" Luxor lcd (I paid £500 about 5 years ago)....The tv works still perfect, remote died a couple of months ago (due to us dropping it a million times), but have now a universal one for it.
I am looking to upgrade to a 50" tv so this specific one not good for me for the money you get a lot of telly!

oos

Bought the tv tonight, switched from a 37" samsung LCD, im an online gamer and the picture quality is awesome much better colour than the samsung and it dont leave massive burn marks like the samsung did, dont listen to bad reviews this is a good tv for a good price

This TV was tested for 6 weeks before review publication, but after an hour or two of ownership you think you know better?

What aspect of Score 39% "DON'T BUY" do you not understand? This TV is close to being the worst of over 180 tested TVs. Discriminating buyers should spend their money elsewhere on something worth owning.

how many colours can it display

reasonable piece of equipment, until it comes into contact with low power transmissions, 3 watts completely wipes the picture and distorts the sound.
