Hi, this is a nice find, can you pull the episodes off the hard disk or write them to dvd?
Please do not buy will not last long buy humax will last years !! These will freeze on viewing recordings i had a digihome version lasted 6 months !
Looks like a Vestel T835 variant, my T825s have been going years, just need a power off & reboot about once a month.

@MitchellT - there is unlikely to be a digital out on this, the only way of copying from the HDD will be real time analogue
none in asda galashiels last night
yep always stick with Humax for PVRs, you get what you pay for
worth just for the HDD itself
I have a Digihome recorder and its going strong into its 5th year now.
For 30 quid, you cant go wrong with this.

HOT!
just phoned my local asda this item over £68.
oh please tell me what the hell is worth recording an any channel, apart from sports ?

"record one channel and watch another or record two channels"...pretty laughable really
just phoned this bromborough store 01513462500 never herd of this deal i spoke to the store manager.
Is it HD?
Well the manager doesn't know what he is talking about as I was in Bromborough store last night and the had 3 at the end of an aisle in the "sale" stuff for £30 so might be worth calling in there or ringing back
Sorry not really a techy person, how do these boxes work? i am assuming you just connect the scart lead into the back of an exisiting freeview box and record, is that correct? I was thinking of getting freeveiw + and seen and few of these whilst searchimg.Could someone please advise and tell me the +/-'s. Better still if anyone knows where to get a freeveiw + box cheaply i would return the favour in 'heat'
- it has 2 freeview receivers built in...

You need to connect this box to an aerial via the usual co-ax cable, and a TV via SCART, that's it. Very easy boxes to use based on my experiences with earlier version, setting up recordings via the EPG is easy.

Was just looking at CCL and Ebuyer to proove you wrong but you are indeed correct! What the hell has happened to hard drive prices!? They have skyrocketed!

500GB Seagate Barracuda for £79.99?! Is there a shortage or something?
Yes, the Thai floods have knocked out a significant number of HDD fabs.

did you ring them or have you been in store.

Must have been there about the same time, There was 3 there then as well, Whilst debating whether to get one or not, one got taken, then i bought one, leaving one on the shelf. Originally over £100 so a good buy.

Agree with the Humax points though, they are excellent recorders, and have one as the main recorder. This is good enough though for the TV in the second room. Humax are also a LOT more expensive than this, more than 4x the price.

I'm so glad you guys said that, I thought I was going mad! Bought a nice little 2TB Toshiba desktop hard drive off Amazon 3mths ago for £60-odds, same one now is £120! And at the time I had pick of about a dozen 2TB models under £70, struggling to get a 500mb drive for under £50 now.
£89 in asda Gateshead
Shows as £99 on the shelf but scans at £89 in Handsworth (Sheffield).
