Reason this is a different deal is because of the 6 month introductory cost at £15pm.

When we hit the ~Q1'23 price rises then you can switch elsewhere...benefit of this deal is securing the £15pm cost and chances are you will need to switch anyway so this introductory price is perfect for now.

362Mbps is not too bad even after the 6 month period when it escalates to £30pm...it all boils down to the CPI price rise...

Why is the OP advocating to switch during the 24 month contract of this deal in the description without mentioning penalty fees?

"If you leave us before your minimum fixed term ends you’ll need to give us 30 days’ notice and you’ll be charged an Early Disconnection Fee for the remaining period of the agreed term."

VM contracts as yet do not include a contractual price rise so when they do inform clients of a price rise then that triggers a 30 day period in which you can leave mid contract without penalty. This changes in 2024 when they are going to introduce RPI based increases contractually.

Great internet but poor customer service. I have this 350mb package for £20pm which I negotiated over WhatsApp. Others have got it for £18pm though. VM are like car insurance, you have to call every year to get a good price

Yeah I didn't even bother adding the Quidco cashback as it's just a temporary option on the table...

£15pm until we know more. For folks trying to lock in now...I think their package will rise irrespective

So may as well go in light touch at £15 and decide closer to the time where to commit

Renewed at basic tv,350mb and weekend chitchat £40 but it's stress keep calling up saying I'm leaving these companies need to look after their customers not over charge people tbh

Totally agree hate calling them, and they force you to take a landline which most people never use or will charge you more (edited)

**It is £50 after the 24 month term which is not advertised anywhere on the site**

I was on 18 month unlimited everything package for £89 until this month which would raise to, I believe, £150 from next month and after a lot of haggling, the customer service would not offer me this for even £30 a month (ignoring the £15 discount for 6 months). I went ahead and served 30 day cancellation notice. Next morning, got a call offering this plus O2 sim for £36 on 18 month contract

They really overcharge you until you threaten to leave

We just got their 350mb broadband and it’s terrible! WiFi keeps dropping and is worse than sky this far.
Going to contact them and ask them what the hell is going on and see if it’s a technical error
    Anokhi's avatar
Check which package you're on, you may be able to get free WiFi pods/boosters. Or if you're on O2 then you can get one pod for free which is basically they're version of a mesh WiFi

Good deal, Up vote from me.
But customer service is awful, can't wait to leave them just cause customer service won't sort any issues out for you
    aLV426's avatar
Well, yes customer service is terrible, but then the competition isn't really any better?
I had to deal with them last year when my internet dropped out, 50 agents (that's not a typo - it was fifty separate agents!) and 7 engineers later the issue is resolved. I wish I had taken pictures! I'm not kidding - they replaced 3 cabinets in the street, all the cabling to the wall outside my house (that's what caused the biggest delay as they had to rip up the cable, rebury it and make good the repairs). All their cabling inside my house and the Superhub. The only thing that wasn't replaced was my TiVo box!

Using VM for allmoat 15 years. Had issues there and then, but all been sorted. Always negotiating price after contract ends. Curre t paying £39 for 1gig with SH5. I know its a poor customer service but what can you expect when they based somewhere on India.

I don't think we will be able to switch due to the price rises?

This is just a stopgap solution for me. Will see the fallout of the CPI increase and which firms take the Mickey...

Am told it is possible to leave but TBH I posted this hoping to generate other better deals out of the woodwork.

As I say this is just a possible option - hopefully more miraculous deals posted!

I've always found VM's customer service quite good. Over the past few years I've negotiated my package to include M250 & Bigger Bundle TV (includes BT Sport) for £33pm.
I've also got Volt to up my broadband to M350, but that required an O2 SIM only contact.

Limited areas at the moment. But they're constantly expanding their area.

    Is this New customers only?

    Yes I believe so

I am on BT but the service keeps dropping and price rising continually, whereas I believe virgin allow an escape route in the event they raise prices...

Silly question time is it obvious this package counts as "fttp"...heard that bandied around but not sure of the nuances?
    Daysleeper's avatar
Yes, it's FTTP (fibre to the premises)

just noticed my discount period runs out 4 th feburay. Can I just cancel contract or will I have to pay extra to cancel existing contract

I have been VM customer for 7years in row. Their BB is quite reliable and most of the outages are mainly service update. With CityFibre in, I see lots of good BB delas coming in my area.

So what are folks doing if the engineer can't come until after your current broadband fixed term ends. If you don't sign a new contract does it default to a higher cost per day model?

Thinking I can hemorrhage a week or so whilst waiting for the installation...

    Oh wait duh stupid me:

Your BT broadband contract is ending on 11 February 2023. You're paying £28.53 a month and at the end of your contract, this will change to £34.53.

I guess I will suck it up for 1 month just to allow some time for Virgin to send an engineer over

I managed to get the M350 (upgraded to 500 as my wife is on O2) on a retention deal for £25 per month and it's great so far. No issues - this seems like a great price, but I don't think you'll be able to leave after 6 months - I'm tied in for 18 months.

Nice good to see positive feedback. I am banking on the CPI triggering a price increase part way so can reassess the situation and move elsewhere depending on packages etc

Hi. I am currently with virgin media and contract just about to finish, new price going from £35 to £45… best renewal deal they would offer me for m500.
If I cancel can my partner put it in her name next time and get a newby deal?
    zelazny's avatar
From what I remember, the new customer deals only apply if you have had no service at the property for a certain amount of time - might be 3 months?

Best bet is to cancel, check if there are other providers with a better price and wait for the retentions team to call you. I used the fact that Vodafone had a great offer on to get the price down - I also didn't accept the first thing they offered - saying I needed to think about it and could they call me back in a couple of days. The callback was right at the end of the month, so I don't know if they had monthly targets to hit or something, but they offered me a much better deal.

They're good when they don't throttle your internet...

I’ve just renewed my contract. M350 + 2 wifi pods ( can get upto 3 ) and a stream box for £24 a month on a 18month contract. Best thing to do is let the out bound retention team call you
    Preying_Eyes's avatar
This is very good, how did you manage to get it?
  20. iby2012's avatar
Ok so do i need to ring them up and cancel, realised they were charging me £39 instead of £34/month, but would be cool if we can play the cancellation game now with the price rise and see how low they will do it for. £20/month sounds good. (also does the cancellation game work with the S23 ultra, see if i can throw that in and see what they offer)
