Have been looking for a good free sat nav with free speed camera alerts and this seems to be it

Not sure if many people know about this as the app does not have that many downloads.

Have tried gmaps navigation but wasn't that impressed

Links to android not sure if available on Apple to
Shared Via The HUKD App For Android.

Think so I have only just found it

Been using for a while and I find it to be really good

Stupid question? If I download this from the apple App Store for mini iPad, can I use it (does it work) 'offline', as the iPad is just wifi, not 3G?

Apple link: https://itun.es/gb/-1ozH.i

Before anyone asks 'where is this link from', its itunes own link generator from the mobile app store.

I use, good app, you need to plan a jorney at home using wifi, if you deviate from the suggested route, it will use data from your plan so not completely offline, but it is very good, i avoid quite a bit of traffic on my 700 mile weekend round journeys!

Looks good

Thanks.

Have you tried waze?

Just installed and then removed it and a Add service magically installed itself aswell no doubt for push notifications.

I experimented with a few various navigation apps, M8 included, and I find CoPilot GPS running alongside Camera Alert, is the best of the bunch.

Found waze a few hours ago looks a lot better only thing missing is what the current speed limit is as a audioable announcement..

Far best nav app

Looks good on Android, just 20 mb space taken up..

Cannot find on App Store. Is this on IOS?

I used this recently It took me to an area 3 miles from where I should have been on the last occasion and the week before sent me on a route that took 40 minutes more! I like the speed alarm and the choice of voice but it is Not the best at finding the fastest route or all locations.

Probably a Nav App that you have to buy. I have 3 free Nav Apps on my phone... Google Maps, NavFree & Waze.

I automatically use Waze everytime. Doesn't make it 'better' than the other 2 Apps... I just prefer Waze. I also prefer it over my standalone TomTom SatNav.

Is Waze the best free Nav App available? Don't know... haven't tried 'em all... but it's sufficiently good that I'm not even tempted to download / try M8.

Also available for free on Blackberry

I have Waze and have just travelled to the centre of London from the Midlands, I didnt have a problem excellent directions!

Got this a while ago and think its pretty decent.

will give it a go cheers

It's a 30 day free trial.

What is?

the speed cameras are 30 day trial. The app is free

For which of the various apps being discussed in this thread?

Had this sat nav but wasn't a massive fan of it. Not voted either way

How come when I listed this ages ago it got slated???

oO No

I've tried most of the navigation apps out there, and finally settled on Google Maps Navigation which ive been using pretty solidly for the last 5-6 months. You can use it offline in the same way, by scrolling through the directions over wi-fi.

Co-pilot offer a free offline app, although you have to pay for the turn-by-turn voice guidance.
MyGPS is also very good.

It's free so doesn't hurt to try.

I will Help You out a Bit More than just NO
You can't use it offline as the Wifi Only iPad does not have a GPS chip Built in

Thanks. I gave it a miss. Would very rarely need the sat nav anyway. Maybe just on an odd occasion, that I can usually plan ahead for anyway. Thanks for the responses.

Waze is without doubt the best app available for sat nav, it's the most accurate for eta and uses short cuts when main routes get busy but please always use the notifications feature as it helps everyone, plus now that Google have purchased Waze we should see some investment for new innovations

best one.....
