Makes me chuckle a little when people say for general jobs around the house. Don't know about you but I can't think of DIY job at my house requires a spanner/socket.

I never said that??? But I have used spanners and sockets in/on the house.

A pair of shifters for plumming is the only spanner you would need. What have you used sockets on? I'm struggling to think of anything lol.

That text is from the website chief, not me. I use the right sized spanners not shifters, attaching rawlbolts or anchor screws etc, building furniture, repairs on white goods etc

I gave up using the right sized spanners when plumming. So many radiator fittings are different sizes (some not even metric) that it's not worth keeping a full set with my plumming kit. The 3 piece set of Bahco shifters do the job perfectly. I'd never dare use them on my car though, I'd be drilling/grinding every other bolt off.

I've a tool cart in hall cupboard, mostly for minor jobs on van / bikes but have to have AF spanners for Harleys and even Whitworth and BA for the British bikes, so i'm pretty well covered. Bahco shifters are good (should be as they invented them) had my 12" ones since 80's I think.
Good price OP. Used this very set to put up a tv wall mount. Came in handy when fitting sliding doors from Ikea too
Also used this to access the headlights on my car to replace the bulb.

Certainly covered the "motoring maintenance and general home use" for me
Used sockets every time ive put a tv on the wall

I agree for the price very useful kit. Just secured the hinges on the cooker with my my similar kit. I suppose it depend on your capabilities if they are any use. Obviously it's a bit like giving a monkey a machine gun for some people. (That should get them going(devil) )
If you prefer a lot more quality then go for this set amazon.co.uk/Bah…set

Nope ✌. But I am a fitter, so I do know one end of a spanner from the other sort of speak. I am going in for my water regs soon though.

I'd suggest doing a plumBing course. Not much call for fruit based maintenance.

Thought normally use large rawlplugs for that job well for two in the house I did but on a single brick wall because fitting 50" plasma used two bolts through the wall.
Bought this set a few weeks ago at this price, perfect for working on my RC cars. Hot

+1 me too, they're the best ones for driving in with an impact driver or wrench. Normal screw heads tend to slip
Well I've bought one so thanks for the post, may never use it, but I've got one just in case!
Brought this, the case is essentially air enclosed plastic, too many screwdriver bits, for 13 sockets and an adapter bar with a small socket-wrench seems okay if it lasts but should have gone for screwfix.com/p/s…752
