absolutely. I did so with two of mine. Work like a charm. one of them (big machine with some crazy power) did require having to buy these metal extension bits but they cost a few quid.

I tried ordering for delivery and it said to remove from cart or save for later.

Oos

Doesn't state power, any idea? I bought a cheapo from Screwfix I think (The Blue One) I can virtually stop it with little pressure. Useless.

I would be surprised if this is any more powerful.

It's probably 150w but can't say for certain, the 150w power is usually sufficient for sharpening tools etc and reviews on the Screwfix one and Argos challenge range are all quite good overall - maybe your not using it correctly ? oO

No stock in Kings Heath, Erdington or Halesowen West Midlands

I wish, not knocking this deal, its cheap.

How about this for just £2 more you get nearly double the power and delivered..

Available on amazon for more but according to the three camels it's the cheapest it's been. Makes the e-bay deal look cheap doesn't it?

No worries and knock away, that's what the comments section is for if it's 150w and that's not powerful enough then yes there are better out there 400w and above but at the higher price to suit.

I've ordered one and I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces with my finger ( little pressure ) or maybe not - there's an old saying in engineering - never put your finger where you wouldn't put your ****

Should it prove to be a poor buy - it'll be back to B&Q in a flash X)

Looks like a knockoff version cheap unbranded one. Like from a shopping channel

By the way does anyone know where to get "extra fine" stones??

It'll be great as a nail file and for pedicures

But then, I've had a 150w Clarke one for years and it's been great. Not much use on grinding down shipyard girders but great for many other things inc sharpening an axe.

Apply light pressure, get the angle right and let momentum of wheel do the work.

all of these machines sold by loads of different retailers with different branding on them. they are all the same machine, made by the same company and rebranded to suit.

btw, this is always this price in b&q, has been for months,

If u r stopping the grinding wheels while using it, you are using it wrong!

Let the machine get up to speed and grind s-l-o-w-e-r, if the machine starts to slow, stop grinding for a second and let the machine get back up to speed.

Don't use the machine if the wheels are damaged, make sure it's securely clamped to the bench and watch out for any combustible materials nearby!.

Allows you to add to basket but on checkout there is no stock and asks you to save till later, suggest this needs expiring, any one ordered one to day Friday 3rd July???

And wear eye protection. Don't rely on the little shields.

If you think that you'll probably be OK without eye protection, just think that one day you'll probably have an MRI scan. If you have any tiny flakes of metal embedded in your eye - which you probably won't even know about - the magnets will whip them up into a frenzy of destruction. Not good.

OOS

anyone else bought "mac allister" products before find them OK? I went through 3 dead-on-arrival MacAllister garden vacs from B&Q before I gave up and bought elsewhere. Maybe I was just unlucky that week or it was a dodgy batch of leaf vac/blowers, certainly put me off the brand getting 3 dead ones in a row.

Expired it based on reports of no stock

Still showing units available for purchase in my 5 local stores, albeit as "low stock". Shouldn't be expired yet.

Just picked one up in Brighton and there's one remaining.

Should be unexpired, still plenty of stock

this need unexpiring bought one from leicester branch this morning, there was 1 remaining. Just tried it out seems fine, certainly powerful enough for general sharpening duties.
