Are you sure?
It's not about the size, it's how you swing it that counts

You didn't have the lumberjack shirt, it makes all the difference.

B&Q - the biggest UK DIY retailer - one of the worst websites ever made.
Don't worry about people becoming lumberjacks - this is ideal for cheap serial killers. Chop and throw
Ordered 5 - but doubt they'll be available. Will take my own to show my displeasure just in case!
You have never lived - or nearly died. Great tools. Keep one under my drivers seat with a bit of kindle to explain away.
Seriously though - they are great for chopping up bones etc
Now, does anyone know where I can get duct tapes for cheap as well?
Also, ropes.
Oh and a shovel too..
You will probably end up with more heat, its the mystery of HUKD

Plenty of people still have open fires, especially us country mice. A small hand axe is great for chopping firewood into kindling. I use a big 'un for splitting logs into firewood.

You can get these at Selco. (They also do Visqueen)
not a big surprise, it was obviously axed.
If you really need a good axe,and are prepared to pay for the real deal,go for a new Gransfors Bruk,or do what I did,get a second hand Elwell head, recondition it,and put a Gransfors Bruk shaft on it,razor sharp, can be used all day,and all it needs is a light strop to bring it back to razor sharp again.
As it is made from carbon steel, dont forget to clean it after every use,and spray it with WD40 to keep the rust at bay!.
After the initial reconditioning, treat yourself to a Fallkniven DC4 to keep it in tip top condition, and a leather strop to keep the shaving sharp edge.
Exactly this, you would waste more energy trying to swing it hard enough to do any real impact.
Spend a few quid more and get a cheap one which is much heavier. Aldi do them for a fiver every so often, or a tenner for a longer handled version
