Mac Allister Grip-Drive sockets offer the next generation in socket technology. Patented Advanced Cam Technology allows the socket to bite on to the sides of the bolt head even if its rounded, rusted, or otherwise damaged. The harder you turn, the tighter it grips! These tools also function as a bolt starter and will hold the bolt for easy installation in hard to reach areas (non-magnetic). Made of durable chrome vanadium steel it comes complete with a compact dual flip storage case.

got these... not had chance to try them, but the matching spanners were the same price too when I got mine...

Cant find them on the useless B&Q website wanted to check if this deal was available locally but it doesn't even list this product that I know the actually sell as ive seen them in there. Not used them but they look like they could be useful for damaged heads.

I will try mine tomorrow and I will report what the quality is.

Same price in the store

Similar set here but going by the reviews it doesn't look very good.

No doubt they are, Irwin stuff is good, however very limited sizes in that set...

Can somebody recommend a brand of a quality breaker bar? I'm about to try DIY on my old banger.
Is the Bahco brand any good?

Snap on and Blue point are going downhill in terms of quality and durability, our workshop has stuff requiring replacement by the rep pretty much every fortnight when he calls, yet the the Bergen/Halfords/Mac Tools stuff just seems to last. Sad to see, but increasingly Snap on just seems to disappoint.

Costco got a set http://www.costco.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/cos_8,cos_8.1,cos_8.1.3/922243

Got one seems good for diy heavy ratchets and quality chrome

I bought a set from Silverline, I'm sure they came with a Lifetime warranty, never had to use them...............yet

I agree snap on is very overpriced for what you get. Ratchets are very good tho.

brought these the other day from instore. lots left in Eastwood branch. not sure if I needed them but couldn't resist at 12 pounds

Bahco is definitely one of the premium brands of tools IMO

Got these for £12 today and matching spanner set also reduced to £12 loads in store at b&q Northampton store..

They are, and if you look on the Bay, only about a £5 extra! ebay.co.uk/itm…e6d

I've got some of these. They're OK and definitely dig into the bolt although best used with an impact driver, otherwise they can cam-out and take bits of bolt head with them.

I've had one of those Sealey breaker bars for about 15 years. It bends a bit on really tight hub nuts* but has never failed me yet. They're a bargain imo.

*Not to be confused with wheel nuts. Hub nuts are much bigger and tighter as in 36mm and 350nm.

These work incredibly well on round bolts.

Bit of a con to me, trading on a name similar to MAC tools which are quality, MAC Allister? Come on, and if you're into flat gripping sockets and spanners, Metrinch by Richmond, not my thing, I prefer cheese and pickle sandwiches!

The Nottingham B&Q Extra has loads in stock.

Leicester store has lots of stock but priced, and scan at £20.
