Mac App Store now live with over 1000 apps

The Mac app store has gone live today. Like with the iphone there will be a mix of free and paid for apps but hopefully with today being the first day most will be free and many more will be added in the near future.

With the Mac App Store, getting the apps you want on your Mac has never been easier. No more boxes, no more disks, no more time-consuming installation. Click once to download and install any app on your Mac. The Mac App Store is now available as a software update for any Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

Just got the update. Looks good but seems some games are a little expensive compared to their iPod versions like Angry Birds.

Yes, it does have over 1000 applications, not all of which are free. I wonder if their percentage comision model has changed specifically for this platform

I say there would be a mix. Just thought mac owners out there might like to know about this so they can check them out.

True. Though I am curious as to what percentage they're charging.

Remember kids, you need to do a system update to get the app store.
