The difference is a plain white box or a printed box. I'll save the £61 thank you.

Have you ever purchased a refurb from Apple? I like your GIF's but really don't share your view on Apple refurbs direct from Apple. Every single product gets delivered in brand new condition.

I concur with super_leeds_86. Refurbs from Apple tend to be in brand new condition, and they come with standard warranty as well. Well worth it!

On the second hand market 2011 models go for £350-380. For £40-70 more you get:
USB 3 (vs USB 2),
Intel 4000 (the 3000 was so bad in comparison),
4GB (vs 2GB) RAM,
Bluetooth 4 (vs 2.1) and
10% faster processor.
Legit version of 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Also direct support from the manufacturer and 12 months warranty...and save £61 on standard RRP.

I pulled the trigger on one.

I had a long hard look at the Intel NUC mini-PC, but adding storage and RAM comparable to the Mac Mini and it starts getting too expensive for an i3-based computer.

£419 for an i5 mini PC with surprsingly decent connectivity and remarkable resale value cant be beat. And to concurr, I bought the wife a refurb iPad 2 last year. There was nothing 'used' about it. A new product for a 30% saving. Jump in.

Well I'm glad I've helped someone who might not have got this deal if I hadn't posted it!

The versatility of this machine is remarkable, also the resale value and additionally the running costs. 11 watts of power on idle - find me a PC with that?!

I'll own up and say I pulled the trigger earlier today. I didnt post on HUKD because of brutality dished out to Apple posts. I still like Windows 7 very much, but the brilliance of the iPad has tempted me to indulge Apple further.

Noooo!! That's what they want you to do!
As I send this off my iphone lol

The Quad Core i7 model at £579 is a good choice - gives a lot of power in a small package.

And for the record - I've had a few Apple refurbs & all have been brand new - the only difference is delivered in a plain box.

Geekbench scores:
2012 i7 Quad Model : 11000 - 11500
2012 i5 Dual Model : 6500 - 7000

Wow that is a jump.

Bought the i7 mac mini for £600 with cashback just before Xmas through a deal posted here. Best purchase for a computer I've ever bought. Sits under my tv to run plexus silky smooth all from the apple remote and with it's hyperthreading quadcores is super fast for rendering 3D.

Mine turned up today. It's a new computer, expertly packed and with a very sleek light power cord
