wish I could remember, didn't take a picture of them
uploading the macbook ones now. seems like sizeable discounts anyway

No way! Can't believe they would do this that's a £300 saving! Maybe they were the old ones but described incorrectly.

Yeah pretty good prices, just wondering if these are the thunderbolt models or not.

i3 or i5? i3 would make them 2010 models without thunderbolt.

Original Poster

According to this, the Macbook 13" never came in i3, jumped from Core 2 Duo to i5. Posters clearly say Core i processors so I'd assume its the ones with Thunderbolt but unsure.

I think you could have gotten i3 in 2010 as an extra upgrade, Core 2 duo was the base model and for extra apple upgraded you to i3. But not sure if HMV would have those. So HOT HOT HOT

i3 was not an option in the 2010 13" models. Apple chose to continue offering the C2D in the 13" because they wanted to use the AMD graphics chip.

If these are this years models this is scorchio. Tempted to roadtrip to get one!

Very good price if they're the 2011 models

Yep! I was wrong these must be the 2012 models then! I was getting confused with the i3 iMac [=

and you'd get a free buttoneer thrown in for good measure!!!

Good Find, even cheaper than Educational Discounts

Yep, a hot apple deal (unusually!)

The white macbook is due for a refresh (or to be discontinued), so it is probably best to make the jump up to a MBP, which were all updated in February.

buyersguide.macrumors.com/

do all HMV's sell macs?

Dont have a HMV that sells these near me, bummer Heat added!!!

The Photo showing the 13" MBP seems to indicate nvidia graphics, which would imply an older MBP, as the new 13" MBPs have onboard intel hd3000 gfx. It's cheaper than even the HE discount!

However if I bought this through the HE Contract, for £60 I could get a 3yr warranty, and being the cautious soul I am I'll buy through my University.

Still Hot for everyone else though!!!

These are 2010 models. In the first picture the old style charging magsafe port on the Macbook Pro gives it away.

2010 models used the new style charger so I think in the ops pic it is just being ran from an old charger.

The 13" sign definitely says core i3 which means it is a new model with thunderbolt.

Top deal OP

It is a top deal for non-university buyer

For university buyer, it is best to buy from Edu store as for extra £60, you get extra 2 years warranty

Correct. It's not uncommon to see the old adaptors used because display desks are usually wired through desks. So its just easier to use the old adaptors they are fully compatible.

The latest 15" MacBook Pros are Core i7.

Don't suppose any super mac users out there can tell me how to install … Don't suppose any super mac users out there can tell me how to install flash on a powerpc g4 with a motorola processor so i watch youtube?

I've got an old Clamshell G4 iBook but I'm afraid that Flash is a bit too much for it. I does run but it does so very slowly indeed and it causes freezes. I'm afraid that I think that you'll have to update your computer.

If you google it you can run the likes of utube in HTML5, that will work much better, I think you click on search options and then WebM. On my G4 Imac it works where flash wont.

WIll these run flash?

Most stores will just use any of the MagSafe adapters to demo the MacBooks. When a new model comes out, they just replace the MacBook and not the charger, even if it's the newer version of the charger. So this doesn't really give away much!
