This is the old 2014 model

Seems a bit pricey. I just bought a Windows 8.1 laptop with an Intel i5, Iris graphics, 13" 1920x1080 screen, 128Gb SSD for £305.

Where from?
Is that the Acer refurb from PC World that has the dodgy touchpad?

*Edit - I'm pretty sure that you bought the Acer from PC World. It has a fuzzy screen, and multiple people have or will be sending the laptops back due to persistent touchpad faults. So yes, on paper, it's a bargain. But it is cheap for a reason...and probably shouldn't be compared against something that will not have any build quality issues at all

Yes, that's the one. The touchpad works fine, although I admit it's not the best in the world. I really like the screen; I'm a bit bewildered as to why so many people hate it. It's one of the best laptop screens I've ever seen for watching videos.

So what extra would I be getting for the additional £340 that the Mac would cost me?
