Got an email from Apple re: Black Friday Sale this Friday but I remember last years sale was only a few percent off - around 5% I think - so have plumped for this deal...with delivery tomorrow for only £3.99 more!

£110 off is a decent saving. Deserves some heat for the latest offering. There isn't much on the market that competes well with the air.

I'm weighing up if I should get it or get it in the states. It's £150 cheaper with all the credit card fees but will be missing the box and power adaptor plug. (For the customs)

Good deal. It's expensive but so far it's the only thing like it on the market. And when you consider an ipad is £500-£600 it makes sense to pay the extra (IMHO).
I think there is 1.51% on TCB too.

I'd sooner have a non flash HDD and more storage, along with a slightly larger screen. its a deal but not brilliant

I want... coz I chose ASUS full of regrets now...

HOT!

Great deal. Other manufacturers keep complaining that they can't complete against the MBA and have the same quality. Looks like its back to plastic for those guys.

Are you suggesting you will smuggle it into the UK?

Code working even on refurbished Mac's..... please someone buy all the 15 MacBook Pro's, that will save me £990

This is a great machine. I have the same model which was bought in the US. Only downside I can see is the poorer windows explorer (called Finder on the Mac) not as smooth but everything else; keyboard, backlit at that, speed in starting up and waking up and sleeping, screen are all really great. I have been using PCs for yonks and this is really a nice piece of kit. It is expensive though. "You pays your money.."

How much did you pay for in the US?

The BEST home computer money can buy and I wouldn't call it expensive for what it is.

They plug into your TV and mac software is brilliant for use as a home cinema.

Easy to setup and use on your network for screen sharing.

I can play most games from my Steam account including Football Manager, Portal, Torchlight & Left 4 Dead.

I can run Photoshop etc. I can even run my Reason/Record combo!

Multi-tasking is superb and stable thus increasing workflow even better when you use OSX features like Hot Spots, Spaces, Launchpad etc.

Best build quality...I had mine for a year using it everyday for work and there wasn't a mark or scratch on it!

Hold their value well...bought mine for £1,000 last Nov and sold yesterday for £700!

Light and truly portable as they are around 1kg less than a normal laptop and a 7 hr battery life for less intensive work means less time charging. The SSD means you shouldn't get many probs as only moving parts are the fans which only go on when the machine gets hot.

Superb kit and if you are even slightly interested in buying one I would say DO IT!

$1249 / 749 GBP.

Again this is really a lovely piece of kit and light weight, fast, great multitasker and of course very very well made.

I owned the original 2008 MacAir 13" with backlit keyboard bought as second hand and used for 6 months before I bought this latest model 2 months ago, which added a few things and battery life was better .. expect circa. 5 hours but less if you have some Youtube running, or power apps multitasking .. browsing though is fantastic. Deffo recommend. It should keep value too.

Was $1249 including tax? Because they are $1299 on the US website and plus tax so about $1406.17 including tax.

I am selling my 2006 Macbook to CEX for £283 which is amazing considering it's 5 years old. The machine still runs like a dream but I want to sell it before it's broken and becomes worthless.

My girlfriend managed to snag me a Macbook Air on her student discount for £945, so hopefully this will last another 5 years!
