Macbook Air for £599 if you Trade in an old laptop @ Currys

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Curry's PC World has a deal where you can have £200 off the price of any Macbook if you trade in a laptop. There are a few conditions, but if you have a working laptop less than 7 years old with a power supply it should qualify.
I was told that the Macbook Air is still £949 if you buy direct from the Apple Store, so this seems a good deal. I traded in a 6 year old Windows 8 laptop, and it was easy enough in store.

MacBook and the Air are both due a refresh soon. Such a shame the Air still has a low res TN screen from many years ago.
Voted hot by the way.

I've been given a quotation of £87 for the trade-in.

Below the quote, it does say £200 guaranteed trade-in value when purchasing a MacBook though.

Define “working” I mean mine turns on but you won’t get much else from it.

They ran a few diagnostics tests and checked all the buttons were in working order... it’s worth a shot!

Why not do a stock check for your local stores and reserve one for collection, if available. Then take you old laptop in for trade-in before stating you have reserved one, if they say they have none in stock just show them your reservation number.
Old model but interesting still. Wonder how much newer model is with student discount.
My laptop when turned on tells me that the battery is in bad state and needs to be replaced. Apart from that everything is fine. Would this be accepted as a trade in ?
These have been on other deal sites in the US for $350, the new MacBook Air is being announced next month. A decent deal I guess if you have an old one around and need it urgently..

also wanted to know that
Cheers OP. How strict are they on the 7 year rule? I’ve got an old one that’s borderline.
The MacBook Air isn’t a bad machine but it’s still stuck on 5th gen Broadwell, not that there’s anything wrong with it but you’re immediately 3 generations behind before you even start and it’s still not what you’d call cheap. At least you get 8GB RAM now though...

He asked us the age of the laptop, so I have no idea how they check that you are telling the truth. If you follow the link there is an option to get a quote so give that a try. All you need to enter is the make of the laptop and the type of processor. It then tells you the value in store along with the trade in value against laptops and MacBook beneath this.

Thanks. I tried it and said it was worth £16! (Although I know it’s a minimum of £200 for a MacBook). Not sure I want to risk the embarrassment!!
In the terms for the offer it just says 'device' it doesn't say laptop, all a bit vague..

No
Supposedly a new cheaper macbook out later in the year.
Yes, you can trade in any Laptop, ChromeBook or MacBook towards their Trade In proposition, so long as it works has a charger and is less than 7 years old.

I suppose you could buy a £160 chromebook from them and trade it in straight away for £200 towards a mac. Or one of their £140 E203 Asus machines.
