Here's a good deal for those who cannot use the student discount.

This product retails for £849 on the Apple store, see here:

I'm unsure on the length of warranty for this product but you can pick up a cheap Apple Care for around £70 on eBay in comparison to Apple Store's expensive £200:

Since it says "brand new" I'd assume the units are new and unopened. Give CeX a call and find out

You get 3 years hardware warranty with edu purchases, which you won't get with this without stumping up for Applecare.

Got to ask the question, where did CEX get these and how can it afford to sell at this price since retailer margins on Apple are notoriously thin?

Hot if you don't care either way.

Not a bad deal for a well specced PC from this particular brand name.

The alternative operating system may take your fancy and if not, you can change it

Surely they must only have a few.

Something wrong with the spec here?

ie the new model only comes with 4GB Ram?

Looks like a mix of information from the old and new models. Im guessing from the price its actually the old one and someone at CEX got the otther wrong information off the internet?

I think you will find that you still only get 1 years hardware warranty from Apple Education, but you do get reduced applecare (ie £47 for 3 years) I just spoke to them on the phone BTW

Beware of Applecare, many people assume it will cover accidental screen damage and it doesnt. I never buy it for my mac laptops as the screen is probably the part most likely to ever need replacing, adding your laptop to your insurance policy is probably a much better idea.

Probably the first hot apple deal ever....

More likely some incompetent member of staff at CeX selling this as something its not?

The new spec macbook has been out less than 2 months, Apple sells it for £999 what are the chances?

This is the new model Macbook, which comes with 2GB RAM. The Macbook Pro now has 4GB RAM as a base starting point.
