Yes it's probably still overpriced.
Yes it's "only" the 128gb model (more than enough for my own needs)
And yes the newer Macbooks divide opinion but this is the cheapest I've seen this in a high street store. I was apprehensive about whether this base model was worth £1249 but at this price I think is just about at its fair value. The 256gb model is still £1449 and for some reason both the 2015 and 2016 models are still priced higher.

I've braced myself, winter is coming!

I buy our macs from eBay these days - the Hong Kong/UK based sellers dodging taxes. The price hikes on macs is too ridiculous now, and they always were expensive to start with.

Think I paid less for our most recent 15inch MBP a year or so ago.

I too would like to know. Thanks
£250 for extra 128GB chips on the same SSD controller, that's what I call cut the customer's nose off to spite his face and yet he is still gracious to say, "I only needed 128GB anyway" . Well I am sure extra 128GB comes in handy.

Funny how people always seem to have access to these breathtaking discounts, but then can't reference or source the information required to actually inform others.. see it so much on this site.

Metal shell laptops can be had for under £200 new with an IPS screen. Stick Linux on it.

With an i5, 8gb ram, SSD, very high res display and the best trackpad in the business? And the metal is probably more akin to tin.

Also the free OS options aren't as complete or polished as macOS.

There is a reason that MBPs sell so well, and it's not for the same reasons that iPhones do.
Someone PM me the HK Seller too pls.
And me please
Why would you spend all that money on a HK one and get next to no useful warranty? Apple refurbished would be my preferred choice.
