Description

Apple MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
The MacBook Pro 2016 is faster and more powerful than before, yet remarkably thinner and lighter. It has the brightest, most colourful Mac notebook display ever. It also introduces the Touch Bar — a Multi-Touch–enabled strip of glass built into the keyboard for instant access to the tools you want, just when you want them. The new MacBook Pro is built on groundbreaking ideas and is ready for yours.

A REVOLUTIONARY NEW WAY TO USE YOUR MAC

The Touch Bar replaces the function keys that have long occupied the top of your keyboard with something much more versatile and capable. It changes automatically based on what you’re doing to show you relevant tools you already know how to use — system controls like volume and brightness, interactive ways to adjust or browse through content, intelligent typing features like emoji and predictive text, and more. For the first time, Touch ID is available on a Mac, enabling instant access to logins and fast, secure online purchases with Apple Pay.

MacBook Pro 2016 brightest ever display
THE ULTIMATE TOOL OF EVERY TRADE

The new MacBook Pro elevates the notebook to a whole new level of performance and portability. Wherever your ideas take you, you’ll get there faster than ever with cutting-edge graphics, high-performance processors, state-of-the-art storage and more.

THE BRIGHTEST, MOST COLOURFUL MAC NOTEBOOK DISPLAY EVER

The new display in the MacBook Pro is the best ever in a Mac notebook. It features brighter LED backlighting and an increased contrast ratio, delivering deeper blacks and brighter whites. Its larger pixel aperture and variable refresh rate make it more power efficient than previous generations. It is also the first Mac notebook to support wide colour, for even more vibrant greens and reds. This ensures truer-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, essential for graphic design, colour grading and editing.

Powerful speakers
SPEAKERS THAT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

The speakers have been totally redesigned to provide as much as twice the dynamic range and up to 58 per cent more volume, with two and a half times louder bass for maximum boom. They’re connected directly to system power, enabling up to three times more peak power. So they make MacBook Pro the perfect choice for mixing a track on the fly, editing video on location, or enjoying a film on the go.

MORE RESPONSIVE KEYBOARD. MORE EXPANSIVE TRACKPAD

Interacting with the new MacBook Pro is a better experience all round. The keyboard has been redesigned to include our new, second-generation butterfly mechanism — meticulously refined for greater comfort and responsiveness. The Force Touch trackpad is significantly larger, giving your fingers more room to gesture and click.

Thunderbolt 3 port, USB-C
OUR MOST POWERFUL AND VERSATILE PORT EVER

Thunderbolt 3 combines ultra-high bandwidth with the ultra-versatility of the USB-C industry standard to create one revved-up universal port. It integrates data transfer, charging and video output in a single connector, delivering up to 40 Gbps of throughput for twice the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2. Existing devices are easily connected with a cable or adapter. Thunderbolt 3 is reversible, so no matter how you plug in, it’s always the right way up.

IT'S WHY THERE'S NOTHING ELSE LIKE A MAC

macOS is the operating system that powers every Mac. It is engineered to take full advantage of the hardware and designed to be as easy to use as it is beautiful to look at. macOS includes an amazing collection of apps you’ll use — and love — every day. It also features iCloud and other innovative ways for your Mac, iOS devices and Apple Watch to work together.

It’s probably the 2016 model but not a lot of changes. Good price though if it’s what you need - these things are hideously expensive otherwise

Cold, I can buy a used car for this price...

Bargain. Not. Laptops and Mac pro and Mac air have recently become stupid money. Probably a result of a lack of competition with Intel and nvidia massively dominating the home computer processor and video card markets respectively

I’ve learnt not to bother posting “Apple” deals... just get voted cold ..(annoyed)

Yes it did, it was the first year to do so, and this deal is for a 2016 model. Still a good saving as there wasn't a big change with the 2017 model.

It says 2016 and Touch Bar in the first few lines of the description... Apple launched the Touch Bar MacBook Pros late 2016. Should probably get your facts straight

Good deal for a 15" MacBook, as others have said there weren't many changes. Its a good deal based on the normal selling price of these laptops so I doubt many care if you can buy cars for the same amount, if you can then crack on.

Cold. No touch screen. A touch 'bar' is a useless gimmick tacked onto an obsolete OS which does not support touch. It's a downward spiral for Mac 'PC's'. So much focus on mobile devices and tablets has left the full fat OS underdeveloped and can only lead to decreased sales unless they wake up and start catching up with Windows 10 at Apple. Most of the people I know with Mac laptops run them in Windows more than half the time anyway; a pity they don't have touchscreens to enjoy the real power of 10. Fashionistas wasting their money on overpriced out of date hardware.

My son picked up a Surface Book with better specs than this at John Lewis last month for £1,100. A far superior machine and OS in every way - even though it's an early 2016 model.

mate, please stop. I nearly spit my morning brew everywhere.

On a related note, as someone who actually uses both Mac os and windows equally, my late 2011 macbook pro (admittedly upgraded ssd and ram) is still my go-to device for ease of use over any of the windows 10 gadgets I have. Each his own I suppose, but that said I couldn't justify almost 2 grand on any laptop.

Doesn't the surface book have a dual core CPU?? Not really sure how a surface book is better? Still both nice computers like

Unfortunately most top end specs of models (XPS 13 & 15, Macbook Pro, Microsoft Surface Laptop) are around £2k.
It seems to be the price to pay for the least amount of compromises possible.

I have to admit I'm pretty burned out by the lower priced hardware. Bought a discounted top spec 12" Macbook last week, really impressed.

It’s not better! As much as I hate to say it because I do think Apple is overpriced, the MS Surface Book range uses ULV dual-core processors and the build quality is dreadful - just look at all the people with bent casings, when you question Microsoft they just say that’s par for the course with thin hardware and the bonding process used! The one thing I can’t criticise the Macs for is how sturdy they are, virtually zero flex or give anywhere.

I do prefer Windows but I appreciate what Mac OS does which is why I also use a Retina MacBook 12, though it has Parallels running.
