I saw that Amazon US had a 2 day deal, so checked UK and saw the best prices I have seen (possibly) ever.
Apple/Amazon as the seller for the Pro.

Air 11 £740 but low stock
Air 13 £847
Pro 13 £868
etc..... inc Retina

UPDATE: I'm sure the seller was listed as "Amazon" when posted, Now just "fulfilled by Amazon".

All gone at this price, Amazon currently selling for £899 which is still pretty good.

The 2 Apple Macbook Air's available are not sold by Amazon/Apple these will be sold from a company called 'Gooddeal4you'. Just as a heads up never dealt with them before.
New Macbook Airs coming out in June with Haswell.

You'd have to be an imbecile not to wait.

Go ahead then, waste your money and everyone will laugh at you in 4 months. Good luck with it.
Will see if they bring out a MacBook Air with Retina as I travel a lot
will it run windows 8?

will it run windows 8?

Yes it will but you need to run it as virtual software.

So you will use a program called like Parallels or Bootcamp and then run windows 8 through that!

super thanks, wanted to run like a dual boot, so will look into it.
I tried to order a couple of these but ended up cancelling the order. I think the stock comes from Hong Kong or somewhere in the far east so it's not UK product. Not 100% certain but that's my assessment after contacting the supplier.
There are a bunch of companies on Amazon currently offering the new Macbooks for around a similar low price and I don't think any if them are UK suppliers. You can't find any contact info and I even checked with Companies house and they aren't listed. PlLus the delivery times are quite long, couple of weeks. I suspect that's because they're not coming from within UK.
Gooddeal4you mailed me after I placed my order saying they could not provide VAT invoice for my order.
You can do a dual boot like it's 1995. Or you could run them side by side with Parallels.

Just wonder, how many of you will know that retina on this laptop running 1440 x 900 at default, and you will need to activate yourself max resolution. And of course u will be able to play only the Angry Birds on that 2880x1800 and GPU u will have.

Ever thought you might need a laptop now ?? And not everyone cares about if they can run crysis at 4k res.

So no 'laughing' will occur

Bootcamp is not 'virtual' it runs natively talking directly to hardware.
I really don't understand why apple gets so much hatred , no one is forcing you to buy them, it's a good price for the item

Agree 100%

By the way here is a link to the page with the various models.

These are a great price and i'd highly recommend a Macbook ever since I switched from PC's last year. Don't be put off by the earlier argument's about the new versions being released soon, these are great laptops now and will still be great in several years. The only limitation I can see for the future with my Air is the 4GB of RAM as Photoshop and Indesign can quickly eat it up (I didn't buy the Air for this purpose it's just nice to be able to do small jobs on the move) . For the general user browsing, word, excel etc etc you'll be very pleased with your purchase.
Big gamble no consumer section 75 protection and even more concerning seller is from Hong Kong, Grey Import possibly

Yup... Never looked back after the switch It's not cheap by any mean but worth all the pennies if you can afford it.

And somehow apart from Apple store, everywhere doesn't seems to stock the 8GB version....
If i were to buy it I would pay the extra £32 and buy it from amazon direct.
It's a GREAT deal. All you **** on here grow up.

No, don't want a cheap nasty plastic POS with a low res screen.
FYI Bootcamp currently does not support Windows 8
The savings of £100 doesnt make it worth to buy from them. I just picked up MB Air 2011 i5, 256GB 4GB for £850 at CEX in perfect shape. Look for a good used one.

Not officially, but tell my Macbook Air that....It works great, only need to disable adaptive brightness. Windows 8 runs faster then 7, yes the "Metro" UI sucks, but get it to the desktop and it flies. It seriously gives low power laptops and netbooks new life.

I like both Windows and OSX, but at the end, Im using whatever boots up faster
MacBook Air with 8gb is built to order hence only apple sell it
And why single out apple ?

Every manufacturer releases new models every year

Not all Windows laptops are like that, you fool. Windows is an OS that isn't tied to any particular manufacturer, so yes they vary a lot. If you're not prepared to put in the research, then sure, waste hundreds of your pounds and buy something that's inferior, be my guest.

Apple can guarantee your metal unibody as they (obviously) produce all of their own machines, and at only one price point - too high. Unfortunately that comes with poor connectivity, serviceability and "baby's first OS".
