No it's not! Whipped full of air and gloopy, carte d'or that is.
Mackies is lovely stuff (my opinion) tastes just like some ice cream I had as a child.

Mackie's and Kellys every time!

Proper ice cream , not like the sh*t most supermarkets stock...ie reconstituted milk as the first ingredient !!!
Also check out Tesco's Cornish ice cream , not as good as maces, kellys etc..but good if on a budget
tesco.com/gro…732
£3 for 2 litres

Aldi do their own version of this for £1.69 - very similar in taste.

ALL ice cream is blown up with air... it's not very nice if it isn't! OK the very cheap stuff is overblown, but it's the reason you can't make very good ice cream without a machine it's too solid without a decent amount of air churned in.

Yes but it's the amount of air and gloop. When you buy a litre of ice cream in France it sometimes has the volume (litre) and weight. Something like haagen daaz might be 500ml and weigh 450grams, equivalently carte dor would be 500ml and 350 grams or less!
Plus, so many ice creams are made with skimmed milk powder.

Wow. SIN! Full off gloop but skimme milk is the devil incarnate! ;-)

To be honest if it's bargain AND quality ice cream you want, then Lidl Gelatelli Premium Bourbon Vanilla Ice Cream is the best I have had for twice the price - it's £1.99 /L all the time, but it's full of crap too, jsut like all ice cream.

I like the taste and texture of mackies, I do not like many other ice creams. As you will see mackies is made with whole milk instead of dried skimmed. You may disagree with my likes, but, hey ho such is life.
Btw. Point of interest, mackies is not vanilla (which also helps me like it) the overpowering flavour of false (generally) vanilla really puts me off.
Next time you buy look at the volume and weight and see how much product you actually getting!

Ok, weird!

Not as good as the £1.13 I paid in Coop due to winter freezer clearance. Southend Coop.

Of course I always go by reviews and not my preference.

This is my absolute favourite but no Waitrose in NI
