Shame Mad Catz went to the wall, they used to make some innovative stuff.

Thanks vassy1, Heat +1

Just hope the 20 million clicks last the page refreshes on Black Friday.

[ignore my rant ]

Shame the sensors on the RATs are rubbish, they make good mice with good weight, customisability, and good button placement, and stick a terrible dodgy sensor in it.

I persevered with my RAT7 for years until I had to give up, used to get some right erratic movements.

You had a laser sensor which undoubtedly had some form of acceleration. This mouse has the Pixart 3310 which is actually one of the best optical sensors (only surpassed by the newer Pixart 3360) and has no inherent accel. If you loved RATs mice then this may actually be the bargain you been hunting for.

Looks great for the price. Might be worth investing in a logitech though.

thanks, I had no idea they used a better sensor in these.

I've got both this and the RAT6 but found I preferred the weight and feel of either Logitech 402 or 502 or Steel Series Rival 100 over either of the Mad Catz.
Still a great price for this and voting hot though!

Ordered as a backup as my Corsair right button has started sticking. 15 quid is a bargain - thanks OP

I have the pro model, plastic and featherweight,no idea if same build construction on this.Disappointing.

Ordered. Need something to go with my mechanical gaming keyboard.

I like my MadCatz Rat but one slight problem with MadCatz devices is that you can't get the full driver any more since they went bankrupt. I don't know about the other devices but the mouses aren't supplied with the full driver.

Heat + Ordered. I need a new mouse, and for £15 that looks a bargain

I've ordered but I'm concearned by the lack of driver support going forward. There wont be any development so a new OS may struggle. But for £15 its worth a punt.

I've got hold of "RAT_4_Mouse_7_0_59_6_x64_Drivers.exe" but these are dated August 2016. Does anyone have a link to a newer version?

What was the original price of this? Will it be expected to go down further since Mad Catz fell out of business?

Sadly kklown's link goes to a "Domain has expired" page without any drivers. Softpedia has a link to version 7.0.59.6 64-bit

Thanks, updated the link, includes version 7.0.60.3

i got the rat6 for £25 during an amazon summer sale, not a fan of its looks but it works just fine and i find it comfortable. the lack of drivers only affects if you want to use all the colour changing and gaming features.
else it works as a regular mouse with adjustable speed, which the rat4 has.
heat!

I got a RAT7 which is kinda on its last legs, worth downgrading to this or wait till Amazon's Black Fridays deals?

That is a serious downgrade, I would wait for BF.

The sensor in this is much better than the laser sensor in the RAT 7, so I'd consider this an upgrade actually.

has this expird? Shows RATZ4 for £36?

£34.99 now

How would warranty work given the manufacturer went out of business?

It doesn't

IF anyone needs a software and drivers for MadCatz it can be found here touslesdrivers.com/ind…512 just scroll down

Unfortunately, I've had to send mine back to Amazon to get a replacement due to the "palm rest lever" not working correctly!

Anyone else have problems with theirs?
