Mad Men is a compelling insight into the harsh reality of life in the 60s, perfectly portrayed through the dealings of a prestigious ad agency in New York's Madison Avenue. This was the era of astonishing sexism, homophobia and the last golden years of the guilt free cigarette, as mass consumerism took hold and helped form the American dream.

Very tempted, I've been waiting for this to start falling (pricewise). However I think I'll wait until it goes sub £20, as the season 1/2 boxset did.

Anyone watching season 4? How cool is that 1964 decor in the new office? (plus of course everything else about this fabulous show)

I have been watching Season 4 and don't think its quite sparked off yet as there are no real arcs or storylines that have come out yet. I miss the family dynamics with Don, Betty and the children which always seemed to be a counter to what else was happening in Don's life and work. No doubt it will develop into another classic season, but we'll have to wait and see.

In terms of Season 3, I have waited patiently for a few months as it was circa £28-29 in most places and then started to fall recently. I would expect it to go down to below £20 in the new years sales, as it has for the last 3 seasons but I purchased it at Base as I think its a reasonable price for someone who can't wait.

I believe that the best thing about the Blu-Ray versions, other than the great sound and picture quality, are the cast and crew commentaries, which are a lot more than on the standard DVDs.
