MadCatz Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade Fightstick VS Edition - £82.99 @ Argos PS3/XBOX

The best arcade stick around at the moment!
Endorsed by the greatest Street Fighter player in the world.

one of best things about it, you can link two together and its the exact size of a control board of a Japanese arcade cabinet!

was looking for a good stick for a while, managed to buy a HORI Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 one for £99, but ended up being DOA and when returned no stock left for a replacement (stupid Firebox).

These are around £130 - £180 on Amazon depending on the format, and don't got for much less on eBay

so glad I did as this is just amazing and the build quality is so much better, really heavy and well made.

There is also the standard Fightstick Pro for £72.99 (in 2 designs)

What you on about. All the Madcatz tourney edition sticks were sanwa throughout.

I have one but swapped it for seimitsu

Im semi tempted by this cos i took out and plugged 2 buttons on my other stick for Streetfighter

this would be good for soul calibur.

Apparently these are heftier than the standard TE sticks

I can confirm it is slightly larger and heavier than the previous Street Fighter IV TE's, but not sure about the Soul Calibur 'Soul' sticks, the design is a completely new one.

i need to get rid of my TE round 2 - pad players ftw

good find op xxx

Have you ever actually used a decent fightstick? These are built with high quality parts and £80 is a bargain!

Does anyone here use an x-arcade controller on their xbox/ps3?

Would be interesting to see a comparison between these and something like x-arcade or hot-rod a little bit cheaper too.

Yes they connect to PC. The xbox one connects automaticall after your pc download a few drivers (takes around a minute), however the PS3 version you have to personally download some extra stuff yaself. Which seems abit tricky for some.

It certainly would, the X-Arcade is a genuine arcade stick, and is really heavy. I'm interested to know what it's like on a home console. X-Arcade has various adapters, allowing it to be used on a PS3, Xbox or PC.

Asked a friend about these, who's stupidly good at this game and according to him it can be more difficult using a stick.

I have one of these. They are great and the closest thing you will get to playing on a cabinet at home. I paid £120 for mine, sadly.

Really want. . . But. Must. Not. Buy.

Perhaps if I don't get this I can count it as money off a Mame machine later.

I sound like a salesman here (I'm not), but the x-arcade can form part of a MAME cabinet, and would work with a 360/PS3. xgaming.com/

It depends

These games began life in the arcades, i started out playing in the arcades when the first Sf2 was released so to me using a stick is natural and using a pad is difficult.

For others who were introduced to fighting games via consoles and control pads then it takes some learning to get used to a stick. I'm thinking thats probably what he means.

If you want to get into fighters seriously though, then it is worth persevering with stick as it offers the best control possible.

Very few pro players use a pad, i can only think of two to be honest and that's Snakeyes a gief player who won remix tourney at evo on a pad and wolfkrone who is a top crimson viper player.

Good price. I picked one up for £83.49 back in July last year from GameShark (inc delivery).

They work fine on PC if you have the Xbox 360 version. Speaking from experience as I only bought this to use with my PC.

dualshock controller or if using an xbox 360 then a dual shock with the converters from etokki.com
You have different converters depending on whether its a ps2 or ps3 pad. I think some people favour the d-pad on the ps2 controller and vice versa.

etokki.com/Xto…360

Enagamer93 might prefer the Kotex maxi pads oO

I wasn't trolling

It's worth it but I would rather wait as the official madcatz site usually put up deals for their arcade sticks. Around 2 weeks ago there was £80 off the VS stick which totals it to about £60. Code was all provided on the site, anyone actually looking to purchase one some time should hold off for a bit longer if there's no rush!

Heat added though.

This is the stick i'd ideally like but too expensive.

amazon.co.uk/Hor…-35

The joystick itself is what appeals to me as it is made by hori themselves which initially put me off, but is said to be excellent.

One of the drawbacks for me with the Madcatz range is that the sanwa sticks have a long travel. I swapped mine for a seimitsu stick as it has a shorter travel or 'throw'. You then have to contend with another problem called jumping the gate which afflicts the seimitsu. The stick itself lifts ever so slightly when you push it to the extremity of any given direction.

This Hori made stick is said to have the shorter travel of the seimitsu, maintaining the robustness of sanwa and seimitsu but without the gate jumping issue.

Also looks very nice
