Hope the VS doesn't get reduced to £65 or less, otherwise I'll be kicking myself!

Nice find.

Top fightsticks these are with sanwa parts like the arcades etc

Great deal. Have some heat! X)

Good price but I'll wait for the vs to be reduced already own two te's and a qanba D:

what's the difference between vs and arcade ?
is vs. = old Tournament ?

Nice find! If the VS stick were reduced to that amount too I'd buy it, even though I have a TE stick atm... Very tempted!

Arcade = Classic stick
VS = Larger base which has brackets on them. You use these brackets to basically mount 2x VS sticks side-by-side, just like a 2 player arcade cabinet.

At least that's what I remember from memory. They both should still use high quality sanwa parts, if not then the VS stick def will.

interesting Mmmm

i remeber when streetfighter came out. it had arcade stick with eventually got reduced to £20 and tournament sticks which were selling for £60 but were better havier ones.

i have TE for sf4, so you think this stick is same quality as TE ?

or vs. is same quality as TE ?

They're both the same parts just the case is different, vs is made of metal mostly pro is plastic also depends on how you want you hand to rest the vs bezel is striaght but the pro one dips at the bottom.

The lighter, cheaper sticks are very good to use as a base, swap the buttons and arcade stick out with Sanwa parts and you have a cheaper, smaller TE stick basically. They're hard to find now at a good price. Previously you could get a WWE Brawl arcade stick which was identical to the smaller white SF4 stick, bar the decals for around £25-£30 new. Swap the parts out and change the decal and you have a solid stick.

If you have the TE already then it is a very solid arcade stick. It still gets used by the top players now as it is the baseline now for pro fighting gamers so if you can get one for £60 new then thats very good indeed.

The VS stick is even heavier I think and wider. Have a look here at their product page - madcatz.com/sfx…tml

To be honest, if you have a TE and you're happy with it then stick with it. If I were to upgrade then I would get the VS stick personally but shall see if it gets cheaper!

what connection is this
i take it its usb so can be used on a pc for mame
skykid and rygar here we come

Good price on this, shame they're not doing the same on the VS though - would have been adding another stick to my ever increasing collection of them had it been.

there are 4 to choose from 2 for xbox 360 and 2 for ps3
one of each for ps3 and xbox360
listed as pro line and pro cross HERE
anyone know what the difference is between the pro line and pro cross
also this would be ideal for making a bartop mame machine if it is usb but there are 2 buttons on the back

Edited by: "scoot" 25th Apr 2013

the difference is just the faceplate/design on the fightstick, other than that, there is no difference between PRO and LINE

yeah just been googling it bud and found THIS

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
look at the picture above one seems to have a headphone socket on the front for some reason
god knows why and it looks like its the xbox 360 ones that have it not the ps3 ones
tempted to order a pro line and pro cross for xbox 360 but cant find if they work with mama on a pc
have seen people post just plugged it into windows 7 and it downloaded the drivers
but wont be using it for playing pc games on pc just mame games
the only other difference is the ps3 has a ps3 button and the 360 one has a microsoft button

Edited by: "scoot" 25th Apr 2013

the vs stick goes from £159.99 to £89.xx with voucher code MCZSTUN01

Gonna sleep on this (no, not literally), very tempting.

any one know if they work with mame (either the ps3 one or xbox one) if any would of thought the xbox one
can just see myself playing the likes of paperboy, gauntlet and quartet with this
there return policy aint to clever either say can be returned within 7 days if unopened
pretty sure under the distance selling act it actually 7 days after the day it was delivered whether youve opened it or not
nearest ive got to an arcade machine as yet

Awesome! I have a Tab 2 also, so now I'm really tempted. Been using my Sixaxis with the Tab and it works just great.
Managed to get an emulator with Street Fighter working well with this stick?

be good to use the PS3 one with Injustice?
also will it work on both PS3 & PC?

Thanks OP, I reallly don't need anymore sticks.
-> screw it, maybe one more....

I recently bought a TE Round 2 for PS3, but to use on my PC and I can confirm that it did not work on any USB 2.0, but did work immediately (and without any external compatibility software, e.g. xpadder) with USB 3.0. It's all to do with certain USB VIA chipsets.

Here's a couple of links:

forums.shoryuken.com/dis…ost
forums.shoryuken.com/dis…-pc

Basically, I bought a PS3 coz most of my buds have a PS3 so...

VS is amazing stick, heavier and slightly better build quality than this (plus the artwork is better IMO) paid £82 from Argos (i posted it on HUKD while back)

Wish these sticks were compatible with both 360 & PS3, ridiculous when a premium product is tied to one platform.

Would rather have the 360 one for PC use, but then I won't be able to use it on my PS3...

Can get it dual modded to use on both

I know they're more expensive but anyone seriously looking at these as investments (i.e. to put in a lot of time practicing combos, etc) then you can't go too far wrong with a Qanba. Got one myself and don't use my TE anymore as a result.

Tripple-modded out of the box (Xbox, PS3, PC).

I was tempted to try and dual mod my TE stick initially but there didn't seem to be a clear consensus on the best way to do it and I wasn't sure about soldering and subsequently attaching the PCB mod to the internals of the stick casing.

bit the bullet and ordered 1 of each,
both pro cross versions (as i thought they looked nicer)
one for 360 and one for ps3
hopefully wont have any issues with the 360 one on my old pc for mame
but if i do have mame on my 60 gb ps3 thats put away
so will have to get that back out
retro gaming here we come one way or another

been toying with the idea of building a bartop
so may get round to building it around one of these
as i have 2 spare 17" philips lcd monitors
and a couple of spare laptops, with small issues ie battery no good in one and hdd no good in the other

Heat. Always wanted a decent stick to really give fighting games a go. Been playing Injustice and find it hard to get some moves to register so hopefully this will help.

Is there a windows driver needed for the xbox 360 version?

ordered one in the end!

hopefully make Injustice even more fun!

Before I ordered the PRO, I was looking at getting the VS but the £83 at Argos was a little too steep for me. If it was around £65 or less, I very likely would have gone for it.

I received my stick yesterday, so delivery took less than 48 hours from payment, which is excellent. I'm using it with a PC only, and on my Win XP 32 bit OS, drivers were downloaded from the internet as soon as I plugged it in to a standard USB2 port. I played some Street Fighter with it, IVAE and X Tekken versions, and the button are, by default, configured in the standard layout. My initial impression is that this is a very good quality arcade stick. It has a decent weight and feels solid and well built. I would not expect it to break easily. In fact, I think you would really need to try hard to damage it. The robustness of the microswitches inside the joystick and buttons is more difficult to judge, and I guess, only time will tell. I think at this price it is good value for money, and as a fighting game fan, I am very pleased with my purchase. I thought I might have some regrets about not having the top of the range VS, but the PRO is really an excellent quality stick that stands up exceptionally well on its own merits.

If you're a fighting game fan, haven't already got an arcade stick and are in two minds about this, I would say go for it. You're very unlikely to regret buying it, and if by some remote chance you do, you could probably sell it on eBay for the amount you're paying and maybe even more.

I bought the Xbox360 version. I'm afraid it doesn't work with MAME, or at least I can't get it to. In both Windows and MAME, the joystick comes up as a "Point of View Hat". The buttons work, but the joystick doesn't.

UPDATE: I found out you can configure the controls within MAME to enable the Point of View Hat to control direction/movement. So, it does work with MAME, at least with the one game I tried it with.
