The Mafia II PC demo is out now and it looks great so far. This seems to be the cheapest pre-order with the added bonus of a free Public Enemies Blu-ray thrown in too!

You get some DLC with this too - different skins by the looks of it.

Gah, edit doesn;t work in Firefox ...

Anyway - it's a strange quote on the HMV website

I'm not sure why I would need a PSN account for a PC game ....

I tried the demo and it's a graphically excellent game, the problem I have is that it's a complete GTA clone, I really hope the final game has more to it that the demo offers, and by more I don't mean a GTA clone.

This is a totally smokin' hot deal right here.

I played demo on the PS3 last night and was very impressed. PC guys get all the great cheap games

It's our reward for spending so much on hardware X)
We often have to wait ages for PC versions to surface though.

If only this was for PS3 as well... Such a great deal!

Pld the pc demo last nigth looks real good maxxed out and quite liked the gameplay but would never pay more than £10 for a single player game, unfortunately no co op or competitive multiplayer, so the price drop wait begins.

Pre ordered, insane price and I quite enjoyed Public Enemies too, so to get it on Blu Ray for free is a good deal by me.

Saints Row 2 is a GTA clone but i enjoyed it 10 million times more than GTA4. GTA is now going purely on its name and gamers seem to buy it for the name then its quality. A lot like Call of Duty.

Its the bite that PC gamers need for them to buy it on PC rather than pirate it.

Guys just a massive heads up but from what I've read about Mafia 2, the gameplay will be very, very linear. There will be no side missions or anything like that just the main storyline. Once you've completed the storyline there will be nothing else to do. Despite an open world it is not a sanbox game.

I just thought I'd put that out there as I initially thought it was going to be a much imporved Godfather II, with the ability to recruit\run your own crew, take over sections of the city, complete side missions etc. but it has none of that. All you can do is drive from point A to point B to continue the storyline (which is 15 hours long including cut scenes).

Not a bad deal, but an an appalling film in my opinion. The only film, ever, where I have got up and left early from the cinema. Mafia II on the other hand - looks awesome.

I'd rather they perfected a wonderfully crafted storyline (like the first game) than added a load of pointless, boring and half arsed side missions for the "GOT TO GET 100%" people. just my 2p!

This game looks freaking great. Great price. Is public enemies any good though?

Totally understand that mate but just thought I'd let people know their not buying an GTA type game with 40+ hours of gameplay. This game is really confusing as they have the massive, living open world but no extra content. I've got a feeling they have got side mission prepared but their gonna release them as DLC.

I've just ordered 2 one for a mate as well, will i still get 2 blu-rays with the order? as both are in the same order.

A GTA clone where you cant shoot civilians....wheres the fun in that!?

TBH the demo felt like a piece of crap after playing Red dead redemption for so long. The framerate and screen tearing were awful!

Huh? I was shooting civs on it earlier.

its good, but not amazing. It definitely sweetens this deal though, ordered!

They are no longer doing this deal... :(:(

Thought some of you would be interested to know this...

Yesterday I noticed that the mention of the free bluray had been removed from the PC version, but was still on the 360/ps3 pages. I phoned HMV to find out if I was still going to get it. Got an email from them just now..

"I am sorry to inform you that you do not get a free BluRay disc along with Mafia 2 for the PC."

I've now cancelled my pre-order

dude that sucks, The Pc version looks amazing, but I wanted the free bluray.

Got mine this morning no bluray and no mention on the site of it any more, wondering what my options are now

got my 2 copies just now and no blu-rays either, i am angry and feel very ripped off by hmv!!!!

Hope they honour it like suggested, I've dropped them a mail.

I just phoned them and they are not going to give me any blurays, i gave them hell about it and they still wouldn't budge so i told her i want the address so i can send them but as that was false Advertising, even though i'm not going to send them back, i just thought it would of worked if i said something like that.

forgot to say does anyone know if you can send a complaint email to head office about it? if so what's the email address and do you know any pointers on what to say?

I sent an email off as soon as I got my copy and I have received confirmation today I will receive the bluray as a goodwill gesture

"We can confirm that the PC version of this game was advertised incorrectly. Unfortunately this doesn't come with the free blu-ray. However as a goodwill gesture I will arrange for a public enemies blu-ray to be sent out to you."

yeh but sandbox games arent that good....red dead redemption- was bored after a day....throwing horse shoes, following a woman on a horse for 5 years, aimlessly wandering around doing nothing is not my idea of fun...killing innocents and get the onslaught was fun but never seemed to end
