Prosecco, nice. Italian for Champagne.

Huh?

Prosecco is a type of grape. Similar to how champagne is a region. Prosecco = sparkling wine made from Glera/Prosecco grapes, Champagne = sparkling wine made from grapes from the champagne region.

Personally, I'd prefer a good prosecco to a cheap champagne. Although paying £14 for a magnum is a bit weird - you can get half decent bottles for a fiver or so, so you're paying more for the fact it comes in a big bottle!

Should also be eligible for the 25% off 6 bottles or more offer in store. I thought about it as it's marginally cheaper than the £7.49/bottle price but decided it would be a pain to fit in the fridge!

Magnums are always a relative rip-off, but I'd like to know where you get prosecco for a fiver - half decent or otherwise!

Tesco last week......it was half price and 25% off if you bought six..........was about a fiver, the better deal was Asti at under £3 a pop.

A magnum = 2 bottles . £7 a bottle isn't a good deal its just a novelty. Not voting

I got 12 bottles of that. Actually worked out at less than £4.50 a bottle. And its very very nice.
