Came across this in screwfix and thought it was fantastic value for money,
one pack cost £6.11 for 5,
but if you buy 6 packs you get them for £14.99,
That is £14.99 for 30 bulbs which works out about 50p a bulb
if anyone knows anywhere cheaper than this let us know

they are not being banned. Just stopping manufacturing of them in the EU.

I expect play.com will start selling them lol

I also bet the manufacturers have many years worth stockpiled.

1 have 140 downlights in my house and bought some cheap ones for the utility, a room not used as much as others and they have been replaced with all of the cheap ones I bought and have not changed my more expensive ones in other rooms at all
so good price and rep added thank you:thumbsup:

Yeah, got these once and they had a horrible pink tinge. Don't know how long they would have lasted as I binned them and put in some decent ones

You missed off the s*dding delivery charge of a fiver, unless you spend £50 or more - so correct price should be £19.99 inc delivery.

I went and picked them up from the trade counter so £5 delivery never applied

I am maried to an electrician - I have downlights everywhere - personally dont like them much I think they are 'old fashioned' now - oh well !!
30 lounge
15 in each bedroom 25 in kitchen etc.....
some are flourescent and some are led so dont cost much electric, slowly changing over to led

You have downlights in the lounge? Did your husband just use leftovers from peoples kitchens?

you seem to be missing the point
I think the issue was on quality not on the actual price
yes the ones in your pound shop maybe 50p but the quality and longevity will be much different to these ones

Not had any problem with them myself from Poundshop.
