I have been searching for a small hifi for my daughters xmas present and came across this.I like the fact she can charge her phone with this system and i would go for the black version which is slightly dearer. I haven't heard of this brand though. The information on the old quality brands I know and love Sony, Blaupunkt ect seem to suggest it is just a badge on a cheaply made system. Then i spotted this. Can anyone recommend?
An all-in-one, CD player, DAB/DAB+ digital, FM, and Bluetooth radio, the Majority Oakington is classically designed in style with its wooden finish. The Oakington has fantastic audio options to suit all audiences and purposes, with added extras such as an AUX-in, USB charging port and USB MP3 playback. With market-leading features such as a digital alarm clock, DAB/DAB+ and CD options, USB and device connectivity - the Oakington offers diversity in its features all in a reputable, smooth design.

....stick an echo-input (when Amazon release it on the 12th Dec (hopefully) £14.99) and you've just given her a very powerful system ;-)
Blimey, do people still use CDs? .....says he whom once had an 8-track!
Good reviews on amazon.
for the price you cannot go wrong.
bought as just what I've been looking for
thanks for post
Looks like a deal, OP. I've been looking for something with DAB, Bluetooth and aux-in at a reasonable price for a while, this ticks those boxes and a few more. Cheers!

Ah the delights of ejecting the tape, only to find it has all unravelled inside the unit!

I only have one cassette, found at the parents house. My son was so excited to try it out! Unfortunately it was a xmas tape and it was in the summer season.
I had this model but had to return it to Amazon due to a faulty on-off button. They didn't have any replacements in stock at time of return. To confirm - you CANNOT charge your phone using this. You can only playback music from your phone into the system.

Oh no, do you know what the USB charging port is for then?
Playing audio from phone. It’s not a ‘charging’ port.

I stand corrected. My unit certainly refused to charge my iPhone 6s!

I will try it out when it arrives, If it doesn't work i will continue the hunt!
I have one of these units and I've been pretty pleased with it. It's fairly big and solidly made. The sound is decent and plenty loud enough. It serves all the purposes I need including charging my phone. The only slight disappoint I had was the fact that it doesn't have dual alarms as stated ( wasn't a deal breaker, I just use my phone as a back up alarm ). I paid £100 at the start of the year. Looks like a bargain at this price.
Good spot OP, I'm also looking for a mini HiFi system for someone.

This seems like it ticks all the boxes. My budget is around £100 but willing to go over for something worthwhile. Does anyone have any other recommendations in this price bracket?

Torn between this or the Peterhouse version, with Internet radio instead of CD player... Any advice/opinions?

Looks like a decent piece of kit and cheaper than this, probably due to the absence of all those mechanical bits for the CD player.

If you want one of the other clock radio, then I would say no on the basis that you can’t completely turn off that display and that would be annoying when you’re trying to get to sleep. If you want it in the kitchen, for example, what advantage do you have over using your phone connected to a Bluetooth speaker? This assumes of course that you have a smart phone. Not sure I like the displays on these devices, as it seems a bit overkill i.e. form over function.
I ordered the black one from this seller, received today. Haven't tried it as it is a gift, did take a peek though and looks very nice in glossy black!
