Make £24 in CEX (& poss £50 cashback too!) - ASUS MEMO Pad ME176CX 7" - £99 in Currys, CEX give £124 exchange

So here's the thing, somewhat oddly CEX are giving £123 exchange on the ASUS MEMO Pad ME176CX 7" 16GB, currently on sale in Currys for £99. Grab one, take it in, check it out and get £123 in store credit, so if you want to buy something in there, here's an easy way to get an additional £24 off.

You can also trade in an old 7" tablet with ASUS themselves, and get £50 cashback too, so you could even get £74 exchange profit for it (see -http://www.asuspromotions.com/uk/en/tablettradeup), just make sure you save the serial number from the tablet from the rear of the box first.

Upside - You could trade a few and get that day's amount guaranteed, at £24 a time.
Downside - Prices fluctuate, it can be a slight faff, it's exchange credit only on CEX's already high prices, and you have to go into CEX, so factor in for some soap after (well mine is grubby anyway).

I thought it was £86 for cash

Snobbish attitude but you go in there anyway to make money! Hope you don't feel too 'dirty'.

£50 cashback is if you trade in a tablet...

86 cash in cex

Exchange - ie for store credit. I'll make that clearer. The idea stands though, it's an easy way to get £24 off of something in there. Trade in two tablets and get £48 off, etc.

Can't understand why this is cold: opportunity to get an xbox one for £125 or there abouts.

You have to work for the money, but lots of us do that anyway.

If CEX give you £86 and you get £50 cashback you still make £36?!

You sure about what you're buying in Currys? That looks like the me176c rather than the cx. Which has a lot lower trade in price.

What a total fafferama!

Looking at the specs provided on the Currys website it is the ME176CX. Currys aren't known for their accuracy though.

I think CEX will shut this down before any of you can get to currys today.

But you need a "spare" tablet to do that, the £50 is for a trade-in.

the problem with cex store credit is anyone on here will be able to find most of there stock cheaper and in better condition at the very least longer warranty for what cex charge

you dont make 36 as most of that is in a voucher i have had over 100 pounds in vouchers for over 1 year and cashback is never guaranteed as is the cex price as it changes daily i tried the amazon fire phone deal by the time i got to cex it had gone from 150 to 87 pounds luckily i could return it as i hadnt opened it

Yes, you are right - but not in the way you think: if you rec'd £86 in cash from CEX and £50 cash back you would make £37.

Obviously the more of an item the hold in stock the less they pay for it, but the profit in this deal is there to be had.

And they give a 12 month warranty on everything.

Yes, no denying that, but if you have an old archos or similar kicking about it makes sense to trade it in - even if keeping the new unit.

do you realise it's not any tablet that gets you £50? it's upto £50 depending on what tablet you trade in. they have a list on the cashback page. this is why this "deal" is so cold...

Really?

"For your existing tablet to qualify for the Trade-up Reward it must have a diagonal screen size of 7” or more and be complete and undamaged (reasonable wear and tear excepted) (the “Trade-up Criteria). For the avoidance of doubt each of the following is considered beyond reasonable wear and tear; cracked/split/damaged/water damaged, open chassis structure, cracked or non-working display and does not power on. Do not return any documentation or external chargers/storage devices or power supply units."

"do you realise" that the list on the Ts and Cs is the items they are selling NOT the items you can trade in? And the item the OP lists receives a £50 cashback.

Silly.

And it makes no difference as they are now only offering £40 cash.
