hi

I was in my local Asda today and noticed these amazing tubs of ice cream that were not in the freezer!

Basically you empty out the dried ingredients from the tub and into a bowl and add milk of your choice and whisk till it resembles whipped cream. Add the sprinkles that are included with the tub and scoop back into tub and pop into the freezer for a few hours and voila! ice cream for £1.

This is perfect for any one with gluten allergies out there or if your on a diet as you can chose the type of milk you wish to mix it with!

I myself have mixed with skimmed milk and it tasted amazing!

it comes in 3 flavours:

- Chocolate heaven with chocolate curls
- Caramel delight with honeycomb pieces
- Vanilla with fudge pieces

originally priced at £1.50 and now £1 these are also available online so I am assuming it is across all stores!

Blimey - heat 500 ml /a pint of double cream just enough to dissolve 75g /3 Oz caster sugar (don't let it boil!) then slowly whisk into 3 egg yolks.

Add vanilla pods to the cream while you're at it, (you can use 'em more than once if you rinse them), an espresso, lemon/lime/orange juice & zest, mango pulp, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, pistachio nuts, green tea, whatever you feel like...stir...

Freeze...

Eat...(U gotta let it thaw a bit before eating - it's proper frozen unlike the vegetable fat non dairy 'ice cream'...

And if you have any left over cream. Keep whisking for a long time to separate the water. Them filter with a cloth and keep solid . Then hey presto, your own freshly churned butter.
Gonna try part milk and part baileys

sounds nice!
I want to ask my mother (who lives near an Asda) to pick me up one but she won't know where to look, so if anyone knows where they are in-store then that would be great thank you

It's by the seasons special offers. not sure where it would be at the store you mum goes to. but my one had it against the back wall near the bakery. it's also where they normally advertise the religious holiday food offers.

It was by the ice cream wafers and cones along from the tinned fruit and jelly etc in my local Asda
My kids have got the a chill factor icecream maker cost a tenner, only needs cream, and whatever flavoured topping, they have made no end of icecream
You could swap out plain milk for banana, strawberry etc flavoured. to give even more flavour combos!
