Title says it all. Best drills/drivers on the market in cracking prices. Screwfix has the 20 Million Monster Deal Thingy and are slashing many prices.

18v Makita and 3 batteries? Won't be better. Vote cold if you think Argos 18v drills are better!

Top Deal. Makita are the business. Have some H&R.

Makita are very good although i am in more favour of DeWalt.

Voted hot though

This deal really cannot be beaten. I can see anyone working in construction snapping these up. A bog standard item in the industry and with the two extra batteries..........heat

Sh... Looking at this now...Think I'm gonna flog my two Bosh Pro drivers and grab Makita

Don't forget Quidco at 6%. Fantastic deal (now that I've just ordered mine.......)

Great deal (I have voted hot), but anyone in the trade would probably prefer more than 1.3ah batteries. Great deal for the price though!

 HOT 'says it all'

axminster did this set , with an angle drill or impact drill for a total of 139.

the ryobi is the better buy because of the li-ion battery

In theory yes it is, but you only get 1 battery vs 3 battery with the Matika, but the Lion is twice the capacity so would it last as long as 2 Matika batterys ?

Ive been looking at some McAlister sets on Ebay for £50 they are B+Q own brand, anyone care to comment ?

Shame the Makita hasn't got Lithium batteries but still hot.

heat added

McAllister are nasty in my opinion, better spending a bit more on good kit.

Hot from me.

Forget Li-iOn just yet, stick to NiMh and Ni-Cd. This is a fantastic deal and has been on and off on screwfix for a while. I bought one but upgraded to the beefy 8444 MXT.

Yes definately
1.3 batteries dont last long when your using them all day.
Still a great deal for DIY'ers

I have one of these Makitas, it's fantastic, get's used every day, I'm a plumber and decorator etc and it never lets me down. Batteries last ages and charge quickly. Drill is powerfull enough for everything except tough masonry

I love my makita, its better than this one, but a great range of drills. Ive got the screwfix.com/pro…ill

DeWalt are owned by Black and Decker and aren't what they used to be.

Nothing wrong with Dewalt tools. Can you remember a Dewalt tool that wasn't owned by Black and Decker...I doubt it.

it's a good buy for diyers but this is not a trade drill (black batteries) and not nearly as powerful as those.

Is the expensive £149.99 Makita BHP452RFX 18V Combi Drill significantly better?

This is a trade drill, the higher Ah batteries give the same power, but for longer.

Makita drills are definately better made than Ryobi. Ryobi is decent kit and usually about 20% cheaper than the same tool from a top brand, but they are not quite in the same league as Makita, Dewalt, AEG, Hitachi and the trade Bosch gear. If you have silly money to blow consider the Hilti kit too, very good quality and excellent long term warranties and customer service.

Oh and Dewalt kit is completely different to the Black and Decker crud, very good kit and would not be so relied upon in the trade if it was anything like the Black and Decke factory stuff. It often commands a slight premium though as it has the "cool" image (and by far the best marketing team). Also never ever trust the "savings" on the Dewalt kit. The RRP's are a joke so that everyone can offer them as a "bargain".

Well said that man.
Ref the Hilti bit, I have a Hilti TE10 sds drill bought about 18 years ago and its still going strong the only thing that has been replaced on it has been the flex when I dropped a piece of pipe end on onto it.:whistling:
