Spotted this in B&Q earlier, ok for DIY use, batteries are NOT compatible with the more popular LXT series, however they are compatible with the other 18v makita drill that can be found at B&Q

This Makita cordless 18V li-ion power tool twin kit is suitable for domestic use and light industrial use. It boasts 3 drill functions; combi drill, screwdriver, rotary drill and hammer action with a 2 gearbox providing greater torque versatility. A wide range of drill bits can be easily interchanged with its 13mm keyless chuck. It has a maximum drilling capacity of 13mm in masonry, 36mm in wood and 13mm in metal. It comes with 2 batteries, and is supplied with a 3 x ph2 impact gold driver bits and battery charger for added convenience. The soft grip handle provides comfort and a stable grip when working. Recharge the battery with ease in 60 minutes with the included battery charger included.

Happy with my current Makita twin set. I think you,re better buying the new models.

I bought these about 6 months ago with a discount from the B&Q club, and whilst not close to the same spec as the LXT range they are still very good for the diy'er. The impact driver is a revelation for anyone who has been 'playing' with an ageing Black and Decker drill and using it for scredriving as I have. For my limited use I couldn't justify the investment in an LXT - but have been pleased with this set. As far as a deal goes - they have been this price for about the past year - normally in-store only.
