Makita Cordless Angle Grinder DGA456Z 18v Brushless - Bare no battery - Screwfix for £119.99

A high power brushless motor with automatic speed control, electronic brake and anti-restart feature. The best price elsewhere seems to be circa £150.

Do not confuse this with the DGA452Z, which is lower down in the range.

Unlike many Screwfix deals the six nearest branches to me has this unit in stock for collection, with Quidco and Topcashback available if you are users.

BUT FIRST look here - The similar model DGA458Z is available at £104.99 in some Homebase stores (as per the posting of the Makita jigsaw posted by AGUK123 (16th Dec) or the Makita circular saw posted by Evaldas_Papolskis (17th Dec). Unfortunately the in-stock quantities at Homebase cannot always be trusted.

As this is a naked, bare unit this deal is obviously only relevant for those who already have some Makita kit.

No, sorry, that it is the smaller DGA452.
Do they suggest / require a 4Ah battery or bigger with these?

Going from the heavy torque rotation on a corded version, I'd imagine that grinders have heavy power requirements.
4Ah would seem prudent.

If you are just cutting out a car panel once a day, maybe not.

I looked up the comparisons for the two models mentioned here
makitauk.com/com…56Z

basically one is brushless

the cheaper DGA452 is £85 on Amazon and camelcamel reports its lowest price as £70
Heat from me. Great find.
If you are buying a cordless angle grinder, having used one frequently in the past few years (maintenance engineer in a few factories), after trying a hilti I found a paddle switch is far more ergonomic and makes using the grinder far easier especially over long periods ie removing paint from a door or cutting numerous bolts etc...

MAKITA DGA458Z 18V 115MM BRUSHLESS ANGLE GRINDER WITH PADDLE SWITCH

Was my eventual choice.

This is a great deal though voted hot, just might help someone who is looking to do a bit of work with a grinder, there are so many useful attachments.

Perfect for 'small' jobs around town HOT
Worth checking your local Homebase though, I managed to pick up the DGA458Z for £104.99 on Monday. It’s listed as DGA455Z on their website, but I was pleasantly surprised when it was the DGA458Z in store
