Makita DGA455Z 18V Brushless Angle Grinder Body Only @ Anglia Tool Centre for £99.96

This is Makita's top of the range 18V cordless angle grinder, and it's brushless, for longer run times and better efficiency.

It's similar to the DGA454Z, except it has a paddle switch to turn on, instead of slide switch, making it easier to operate one handed.

This is a body only model, you'll need a Makita star compatible battery and charger to go with it.

Cheapest price elsewhere is around £130/£140.

4.2% TCB too, which tracked for me.

I'm guessing just the paddle switch

Basically what I put in the description, has a paddle switch instead of slide switch. Not sure if any other differences, that's the only one I can notice.

how long does the battery last?

A 5.0ah battery will last ages, this doesn't come with a battery, though.

If I get a battery for it will it have enough charge, and power, to cut through a wheel clamp ?

Compare Items=DGA454Z, DGA455Z First one is not Brushless and the second one it is.

I've had a 4Ah battery delivered today and it come with 2 lines out of 3. I would say that is plenty of juice but maybe you want to listen to other opinions as well.

Heat from me! Good find OP!

If the slide switch on the cordless is anything like the slide switch on the corded makita one, I'd pay the extra for the paddle switch alone...the slide is a sod to operate, particularly with gloves on. I think it's to ensure activation is a deliberate act but I find it really irritating.

If you want to maximise cutting out of a charge, get some ultra thin slitting discs (they're awesome even if you're not bothered about cordless use btw) 0.8 or 1mm thick. Much cleaner, faster and more accurate cuts, just don't use where the cut might close up or otherwise jam the disc...

This seems to have gone back up in price sadly. was good while it lasted!

5.0ah battery ages?????
probably someone don't work much with tools,
anyway 16mm steel bar,no more than 30 cuts so around half hour but this is for cordless grinder one of the hardest job.

Well, I use them every day actually. Obviously, it depends what you're doing, and I use 5.0ah batteries in my combi, recipro saw, impact and this angle grinder and find they last a long time.
