20% off this makita set seems good value. Makita 18V LXT twin kit containing both a combi drill and impact driver, along with high capacity 4.0Ah batteries. Compact impact driver is ideal for getting to those jobs with restricted access and features built-in twin LED job light for improved illumination and visibility. Combi drill is excellent for general drilling work into wood, steel and masonry. Both units have variable speed control triggers for maximum control over power delivery. Batteries can be part charged without harming the cells within, with no memory effect.

1 x 18V Combi Drill 42Nm
1 x 18V Impact Driver 165Nm
2 x 18V 4.0Ah Li-Ion Batteries
1 x 90min Charger
1 x Carry Case(s)

wouldn’t be a bad deal if it wasn’t for the slow charger. although i’ve got this drill and it’s pretty weak. i’ve relegated it to mixing plaster.
I commented this on a deal with 2x3ah batteries for £189 a few months back:

The dhp453 is the bottom of the range lxt combi (I have it, it’s fine but has no light, its rather long and doesn’t feel solid) and around £40 bare. Batteries can be had for ~£30 each and a DC18sd charger is £25. The dtd152z impact is £55.

Tbh I’d spend £5 to get the DC18RC fast charger and about £15 to get a dhp482 instead, 3ah batteries have been going for <£20 on amazon recently too
I’m new to diy and looking for a decent drill set to last me a while. I seen there is a brushless makita set but the torque is lower. Is this set a better buy? screwfix.com/p/m…19x Or is the posted one better?
I would go for this kit I've got it and it's great I picked it ip for £256.00 last year MAKITA DLX2145TJ. Lot of the trade get it as its good spec and batteries
Or get a proper combi that will last you made by Bosch (Blue)? Or a colourful one that has tons of power but not so many tools to fit into a single battery by Milwaukee, or even a yellow and black one that sounds like it is made in Germany but it is indeed made in China by that great American company Stanley Tools. That should start the usual power tools debate! Ding ding.
Seriously though Bosch is better. 😁
