The Makita DUH523Z hedge trimmer features a 520mm double sided stain free shear blade with a surface of glittering silver, obtained by non-electrolyzed nickel plating that produces a high anti-abrasion surface for long life. This makes it user replaceable without the need to disassemble the housing.

The rubberised soft grip provides a comfortable and sure grip and the anti-vibration structure has 5 cushions that absorb the vibration from the blade and crank. A battery indicator on the handle flashes red when power is getting low and is solid red when battery power is exhausted

I have this exact model and it is great.
I use with my 5ah batteries, i used it to cut very thick bramble and worked amazingly. Cracking price I bought it for £69 when saw on HUKD about 6 months ago

If you get this deal, then a great modification is to put a tie wrap around the top bar that you have to press in, along with the trigger, to make it start cutting - allows you to cut much further distances with one hand.

Used it like this for many months without any safety issues and holding both safety catches in is a pain and limits the capability of this fantastic machine.

Careful Hertz - someone from Health and Safety will be along soon to complain in a minute! That said i do just the same myself - used that way for 4+ years without injury! I also have a similar arrangement on my lawnmower, but around the cut off bar - save stopping and restarting the mower each time i empty the grass basket.

Has anyone got the details for Fast Fix complaints department? I was sent the wrong item. The machine was correct but with it came a battery and a charger!
