good deal but pretty low torque. for the extra £6 I'd get the ITS deal for the 482 if available.

Looks like a cracking deal including battery and charger!

Has this got good amount of torque for general DIY usage?
This model brushless and with fast charger?
Thanks
It's an okay deal. It is the bottom of the LXT range drill, the slow charger and no case. If you need it now then it is a decent deal. If you can wait then you could get a better 482 drill, fast charger and battery for around the same money or even a bit less.

Yeh I would agree 62nm v 42nm, fast charger v slow charger and a case is well worth the extra.
The 453 is their light duty drill from 2013, it has been superseded by stuff like the stronger 482 at pretty much the same price point, how are places still offloading these?
No led on the 453
I got the DHP482ZJW deal for £44 with the Mac pac but still no charger and battery as can't find a cheap deal atm. Would it be worth me getting this and selling the drill?

I would go for this. its.co.uk/pd/…htm

£95.99 spend another £4 odd and get free delivery and 0% paypal finance. You should get slightly more for the 482, it comes with the fast charger and a bag.

Don't learn the expensive way, buy the fast charger the first time.

£100 for a G series? That's not right, and the listing shows it as being 5000 collated nails. G series stuff is naff, isn't compatible with the LXT range which is where the majority of their 18v tools are, and £100 is a joke when you can get a much better LXT drill of theirs for less.
I had this with the fast charger a few years back and whilst it is ok for drilling and screwing wood it struggles in anything other than soft brick on the hammer setting. I generally use it for drilling pilot holes.

I recently got the DHP482Z which is a little less bulky and it is a decent step up from this drill, though it also has limitations that lead me to reach for my antique corded drill and 5 year old Lidl impact driver.

Is it worth paying extra to get this?
For anyone wanting to compare the makita drills for their torque and type of purpose eg light duty, heavy duty etc... use this link which shows the comparison of the drills and also a more detailed description of their features.
