My issue is these sets usually have pretty low quality bits.

I'd be interested to know if the deal from OP are of higher quality.
My experince of Makita tools that they are good my experince of their bit sets is that if you need to drill anything denser than chocolate they are not up to it

I am an electrical apprentice and have just purchased a couple of Makita drills (so far so good) however I had a Makita bit set at home - one of the bits snapped within a day. I can only assume the bits I used were purely for diy and not for a day of drilling. Didn’t even last half a day to be fair lol.
Should be a decent enough starter set, or a chuck in the toolbox set for odd jobs

That’s fine then cos I’m going to drill into chocolate eggs then suck the filling out.
What is it with manufacturers refusing to include a 7mm Masonry Bit, that's the perfect size for a brown rawlplug

it's even in the specs for the freaking things

As with any tools, buy something like this and anything you break or wear out shows you use it often and should invest in something better.

No point in buying lots of high quality tools / drill bits and never using them.

I generally use DeWalt extreme bits. They hold their own.
