This looks to be around £100 online for the body-only (ie batteries not included). The body-only version is £60 on WorldOfPower (+£5.99 delivery), but for the extra £30 you get a battery and charger (which looks to be worth £60 itself).

It's a G-series model, so if you've grabbed the 18v G-series drill that shows up on here now and again you can use the battery from that (or any other models in the g-series range [http://www.makitauk.com/products/cordless-tools/g-series-machines/18v.html]).

I ordered mine on Friday, it was dispatched yesterday and according to parcel tracking will turn up tomorrow - I wanted to confirm that it was not just a glitch before posting the deal.

I can't comment on this product overall and I'm not voting but I'd honestly suggest people buy petrol powered as the mains/battery ones are nowhere near as powerful.

Why do you need loads of power to cut a hedge? My 36v one cuts branches as thick as a finger, and much easier/less fuss then a petrol one. I'd never go back to using Petrol again.

I've also moved away from petrol. Heavy, smell, the vibration and heat.
Spend £100 & free delivery. Gloves & Protective glasses available.
Anyone know how long this runs on a full charge? All I can see is 60mins charging time, not use.

1.3Ah battery......
Not LXT so won't take standard newer style Makita batteries.

Correct, this is the G-series which my dad has the drill, impact driver and jigsaw. This will be a nice addition to the collection
For those after something cheaper I've found this to be great for simple hedge and bush cutting rather than thick branches VonHaus 20V Max. Cordless Hedge Trimmer on Amazon £58 delivered.

Here

I have had mine for 18 months and well happy.

I've got the Stihl bettery hedge trimmer, and it easily matches their smaller petrol cutters... not many people would get a larger petrol model for domestic use. Also, the battery lasts longer than my arms, and charges to full in 30-60 minutes.
