Where is this price come from? It shows £39 and £49 for 3 drawers.

Any make of chest of drawers that has all the drawers opened at the same time will topple over.
At least IKEA acknowledge this fact and supply wall anchor brackets with theirs.

yes, I can not put my responsibility to others .its not ikeas fault
As others have said these come complete with anchor brackets to stop them toppling over. The product isn't as fault, the person who built/fitted it is...

chill I have malm just saying reduced because bad press
Before this was on the news, As a non parent it would have never occurred to me how hazardous things like this could be. And what kid wouldn't want to climb up if there is something shiny up there.
Apparently they have always been sold with the bracket.

You're the one who needs to chill. First comment on the thread is about children being killed. You should work for a newspaper

Buy old second hand ones. I've got a few which are over 10 years old and are built solid. The new versions aren't as good imo

Ok chillax mum
This offer is not on in Warrington.. So its probably exclusive to Lakeside.
I have two toddlers and have never felt the need to attach furniture to the wall, they are not allowed to climb on chest of drawers etc and they never have the opportunity to! Tragic accident but the only people to blame are the ones 'supervising' the children.
Ok If i bought them how long before they kill me? Just updating my life insurance

No, Malm furniture does not have a bad reputation among anyone. And it's not about to be discontinued because some stupid parents didn't fix it to the wall and then let their kids climb over it.

Also, I'd hazard a guess that a small reduction in September has nothing to do with some news articles that no one cared about back in July, which was about some deaths that happened in 2014.

I also have two toddlers who aren't allowed to climb drawers. My son decided to climb his after waking from his nap one day. The only indication I had that he was awake was the crashing sound of the drawers against his bed. Thankfully there was a triangular gap between the drawers, bed and floor that he must have been in as he escaped completely unscathed. It can happen at any time. All drawers and wardrobes are now attached to walls in our house. Not a risk I'm willing to take.
Anyone know how long this offer is on for ?

Lol they aren't even recalling them, let alone discontinuing them. You seem like a Daily Mail reader, or Helen Lovejoy?

http://theoutmost.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Helen-Lovejoy.gif

Unlike your posts (which are opinions), here is some fact - a quote from the IKEA UK Customer Services Manager:

“To clarify, we are not recalling the Malm chest of drawers. IKEA already provides tip over restraints and instructions with all floor standing units that are purchased, which are required to be fastened to the wall.

“Warnings about the importance of using the tip over restraints provided are included in the assembly instructions which give step by step instructions for their use. Information about furniture tip over restraints is available on the price tag on display units, in IKEA store signage and online.”

Another quote, pay attention to the bold: “Product safety and quality are top priorities for IKEA. Furniture tip over is a serious safety risk in the home, however IKEA chests of drawers and dressers are safe to use when assembled according to the assembly instruction and attached to the wall using the restraints provided in the packaging of these products."

They provide tip over restraints. If people don't want to use them and put their kids at risk, that's their prerogative. Perfectly safe, and scaremongering helps nobody.

Oh u bitch
Great value. I have the two drawer chests and the 6 (4+2 half size) drawer chests - literally 10 years old this month as pretty much as solid as day 1. They have faded a little in the sun.
is this still valid?
