Great price for a carseat that goes up to age 12!

Do remember the safest way for a child to travel is rear-facing. If you buy this for a younger child, you dont need to put your LO straight into it as soon as they are 9kg! Keep them in their infant carrier if it will keep them rear-facing til 11 or 13kg.

yeah, got this offer earlier too - seems like a good price but haven't had a chance to look at reviews or safety ratings

Ellie - Your rear facing schpeel is getting boring. Every **** car seat deal I look at you're harping on about rear-facing seats. We get the point.

Great - my schpeel is working then! Thanks!

Rear facing is only safer if your car is hit head on, if you get hit from behind then forward facing would be safer. Funny how stats can easily be manipulated to sell something!

Don't want to preach but i think this is important... frontal and frontal offset crashes combine for about 72% of severe crashes. Side impacts are about 24%. Rear and rear offset crashes only account for about 4%.
Did you ever noticed.. Motorways are safest despite being the fastest.. because there are least chances of front collision...

speed of impact in front collision : speed of 1st vehicle + speed of second vehicle
Speed of impact in rear collision : Speed of vehicle in back - speed of vehicle in front.

And what about the people who don't live on here and have never seen Ellie's post before ?????
This is one of the reason why I don't come on here a lot its because of people like you.......
Ellie don't give in to these kind off people, its obvious these people don't have anything constructive to add so all they can do is mock people which in turn puts people off posting.

I agree but these repeated posts make people who can't always afford the best for their kids a reminder they are doing something wrong. This can lead to inappropriate purchases and be worse off both in safety and cost.

we have this car seat, would recommend!

Please explain why stating the fact that rear-facing seats are safer can lead folk to inappropriate purchases!! What nonsense!! Every parent, whether its a forward facing or rear-facing seat should ensure the seat fits securely in their car before purchase eg go to a store and try it out!

I honestly think there is more chance of an inappropriate purchase by a hotukdealer, seeing a 'bargain' of a seat like this, order online and find it doesnt fit!

What an earth are you talking about? If someone needs a stranger on the internet to give them carseat advice, they need to take a long hard look at themselves and their ability as a parent. Besides, as someone else pointed out, the information Ellie is giving is misleading. Rear-facing seats are not safer.

I will assume you are either a relative or an alias of 'Ellie' and ignore you too.

Are you having a laugh? You are saying rear-facing seats are not safer? If you have young children yourself I advise you to take your own advice - research rear-facing and learn the facts before stating complete nonsense!

I never said that rear facing seats weren't safer. However not everyone can afford a rear facing seat for a child that no longer fits in a size zero seat. Our son just turned 1 and out grew his size 0 seat 3 months ago. We haven't gone for a rear facing seat for our own reasons and it wasn't cost.

What my point was you make it out that no front facing seat is safe and unless you go rear facing you are under valuing your child's safety. There are many contributing factors to safety, a car seat is the final point. Car safety, maintenance, drivers ability, road awareness, preparation and so on. I see more often on the road distracted parents that shouldn't be allowed to drive a car with only the driver in it never mind with kids. Please keep that in mind the next time you spout the value of safety.

We have both gone through IAM driver training and keep our driving skills up to date, when did you last do that?

While this seat may not have 500 Stars for safety, it's probably better than Russian roulette seats from car boots, gumtree and ebay.

Also when an item is purchased online it can be returned if it doesn't fit.

Well said glad someone has the sense on here to state fact and not speak rhetoric constantly!

lots of stuff about rear and front facing you can read study on seat from USA

we are compounded a bit as I have 2 seats for my car to drop off, my wife has 2 seats to pick up and on other days we supply the grandparents with seats. 6 seats is not cheap!!!

good deal though.

mixed reviews from everywhere on wether its cheap and flimsy so not good for some kids and great for others, google away...

Heat added even at new price. Thanks OP.

Not a bad seat, we have it as a secondary seat but a pain to fit.
I will say you can get better quality for the same price by buying a used good one off the bay.
