I have been looking for ages for a thomas ride on for a good price saw the toys r us one for £120 then dropped to £99 but looked cheap - when I saw this one wife said we had to get it but it was £170 @ Halfords, when I saw for £99 i jumped at it as it looks much more solid than the toys r us one.

I have this train and track as well as the santa fe train with track. They both come with plastic tracks, not wooden ones. Please advise what leads you to believe the track is wooden in this case.

If you zoom in you can see that the track is plastic,
STILL Hot from me though:thumbsup:

My Eyes Are Bleeding Now

That's Christmas sorted, great deal! Thanks very much.

Can i get this instore?

first of all.hot deal for this product, without a doubt price-wise.

that said, my friend has this, and play interest has been very limited amongst boy and girl visitors of her son of all ages. use is shortlved, 18 - 24 months love it, after that not interested as its so slow. £99, in my opinion, is still a lot for a limited use toy.
just an opinion, not fact, so please dont bite my head off!
if you want it anyway, £99 is a good price.

i seen one of these in my local store, looks well cool, but a shame i have no space for this in my home, i wouldnt mind having a go on it myself lol

You can get proper ride-on cars with remote control for this price, the only benefit here is the Thomas branding?

not bad price

does it take sup lots of space/

How big is the track?

In the Mamas & Papas outlet at Huddersfield a couple of weeks ago and they had them marked down again to £40! I'd have bought one but we don't have the room.

what £40? u being serious??????

got this for my 2 year old for £70 from Argos last year, the button to switch on Thomas is very hard to press down and needs to keep pressed down to operate, so I would say its pretty much useless for under 3-4 yr olds, even then they will have trouble, also doesn't hold charge for long, track is sturdy plastic, in a circle, its all good quality, just not ease for little hands to play with, so they quickly get bored.

I agree, my son has had this for quite a while and while he does love it because its Thomas I have to wrap tape around the GO button to keep it moving as he cant hold it down (he is 2 now). I can confirm that it also takes up quite a bit of space. I still think its a good buy for the right child but wish they had a better operating mechanism for younger children.

Seriously, it was at the factory shop at their HQ. They had the boxes stacked in the entrance area.

Having rethought it though, it wasn't 'a few weeks ago' it was prob about 7 months ago as I'd gone to buy maternity clothes when I'd just found out I was pg again and now I'm due in 2w.

I have a non-Thomas one which I got for silly money from Littlewoods - £16 or something. It took up too much room with the track so my son just rode it without. I'm glad I didn't pay anywhere near £99 for it though, it wouldn't have been worth it. These things very seldom are.

apologies if its not wooden - what I was trying to point out is that the track is not the 'cheap' looking one that you find in toys r us for same price. My daughter is obsessed with trains.

I bought this for my son last year for £80. He was 16months. He found the button hard to work at first but got the hang of it. He plays with it all the time, even in the garden in the summer. Fab toy. Does take up quite a bit of room though.

just went to order this not avalible ne more, xxx grrrr
